Do you plan all your vacations at the beginning of the year? I'm trying to figure out how to spread out my vacation time. I just have SO many places that I want to see and friends that I want to visit NOW. I just can't fit them all in this year.

On my idea list...

Friend has been bugging me to go to Ireland, Montreal, Las Vegas, and Disneyland (I've never been) with her (that's more than one year's worth of vacations in itself!)

Friends have invited me to visit them in... Boston, Dallas (2 friends who don't know each other), Austin, Phoenix, & Baltimore

Still thinking of going home to New Orleans for Mardi Gras

That's just what I'm throwing around, but I don't really want to spend a lot on vacation this year. Boston & Montreal are heading the top of the list right now, hopefully making one long northeastern tour in April and also throwing in NYC. I just HATE vacation planning. (I think I'm the only one here who hates it!)

So far, it looks like I'm going only places my mind will take me.:( I wish I had a vacation planned.

Guess!!!!

Well, since I don't live in Florida, I will have to say WDW!!! Sorry, I know that is not a lot of help, but you asked!!

I found Las Vegas to be an "adult Disney" and would like to go back there as well.

If money were not an issue, I am thinking Ireland or anywhere in Europe would be great!!!

JMHO!! Good luck figuring it all out!!!

I am currently trying to decide where my family will vacation this year. Money is an issue, but we would like to spend about 5 days doing something as a family.

My 1st choice is to drive to Disneyland, so dd 4 and 7 would enjoy the Mouse. However, youngest dd is pretty tiny and would be eliminated from most of the rides that dd7 would be able to go on. I didn't like the parent swap at WDW 4 years ago, so I think this is a 'wait until the wee one grows'.

My 2nd choice is a toss up. I would really like to go home to Wisconsin to visit my mom, but I feel I should make that a two or three week venture. That eliminates DH for the majority of the trip, as he doesn't have that much vacation time.

DH only choice is renting a cabin near Yellowstone and spending 5 days exploring the wilderness. This plan will, more than likely, be THE PLAN. I like it, but don't think DDs will like all the driving this will call for.

My only concession on this is that I get to plan a disney trip for 2005!!!! Why don't they post $$$ for the Disney cruise? I am intriqued by this.

I love planning trips and this will get me through these long winter months.

Depends on whether eldest DS gets school holidays off this year or not........but we are looking at Hong Kong.

That will also depend on the SARS too.

Hmmm.....going to CA in March to visit DS (not sure if that is a vacation or not ;) ).
Going on an Alaskan cruise in June with DH.
Going to Disneyland in July to meet some Yayas :bounce:
Going to Disneyland in Nov. with DH.

I don't usually plan them at the beginning of the year. Just the one "big" one, but others seem to pop up. This year they popped fast! :teeth:

We have several trips planned, with a variety of family member combinations.

Next month, DD and I are going on a ski trip with my sister and her oldest daughter.

The whole family will go to the mountains in North Carolina this summer.

And DH and I have one adult-only trip planned - a long weekend in July, in Key West with friends.

We'll also be taking DS #2 to college in the fall, and may plan a trip around that, but we have no idea where he's headed yet. If it's UF, in Gainesville, we'll just drive him up and come right back home. If it's NYC, L.A., New Orleans or Miami, we'd like to plan a vacation in any of those cities. :) :)

:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc We are heading to Disneyland...in less than two weeks now! Yipee! I am telling you, after this cold and wintery weather, I just can't WAIT! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

The only downfall to this is that we decided to drive...from Seattle. Now we've done this several times in the past. It's crazy, but when it comes down to the choice to drive or fly, we really do enjoy the road trip. We laugh, sing, and sometimes bicker, but it's really good family time for us. So I'm really looking forward to it...even the driving part! :hyper:

WDW!!! :bounce: i can't wait!!! it will be me and DS. and i am taking my little sister (aunt lissa) and her two deprived, never been to disney world kids, and a friend!!!! it is gonna be soooo fun. i am already in full planning mode and have months to go! but i am getting everyone excited with me so it is great!

At this point we have no vacations on the books. We have been talking about:

*Las Vegas
*Hawaii (Oahu as we can get a GREAT deal with the military there....think Shades of Green rates)---this will probably be for NEXT January/February
*Maybe Disneyland

But right now money is tight, so no vacations are being seriously talked about. :(

I usually have our vacations in the planning stages year in advance. Of course those plans change as they get closer.

This year we have two big vacations planned. A road trip down to WDW in May (it was going to be early May at AKL, now we are going late May at OKW for Member Homecoming). We also have the 10 day DCL booked for December.

Next year we are talking about a land/sea stay in Hawaii. We were originally going to do Hawaii this year but when the 10 day cruise was announced changed our plans.

2006 we are talking about an Alaskan cruise.

We leave this morn for our 1st mini-vaca of 2004! Going 20mins away to a hotel w/indoor pool, treadmill, etc. Will stay 2 nights.
If we enjoy this hotel I'll rebook for end of Feb school vaca.

As for the summer I have booked 4nights up near the White Mtns for July 2-6
DH & I may have a wedding to attend (again in NH- Nashua) July 11. Ive heard this is an open bar so we most likely will at least stay 1 night if not 2.
Then we have a reservation for Hampton Beach area in NH July 22-28.
Planning on camping Aug 20-23 in a cabin in a Maine campground. They dont start taking ressies till Feb 1st so this 1 isnt booked yet.

And our big trip to WDW/Wilderness Lodge is booked for Oct 8-16.

For my May vacation we are doing the 7 day DIsney Cruise and then 2 days at Disney.
My June one we will be going to Wildwood Nj and then Atlantic City and my July one we are going to Niagara Falls....In August we will be doing just shorties like Hershey, Six Flags, Sesame Place, Splish Splash....I have weeks in Nov and Dec too but I usually dont go away for those weeks...

I'm hoping to go to WDW in Dec. for our last trip on our APs.

I want to take my daughter this summer but I don't know if my husband will let me. He is protective and thinks something will happen to us. I laugh at him because I've taken 3 children by myself to Phoenix (5 hour flight). I also spent a summer in Europe by myself. I think I can handle WDW!

Lori

So far only one. In 3 1/2 weeks we leave for 10 days in Florida. 5 days at Disney 5 days at Cocoa Beach, with a 5 day return to the world first week of December.

Also planning to take a cruise, either Alaska or Hawaii. I'm leaning towards Alaska which means I'll probably book for summer of 2005 because I want to keep this summer open hoping to return to Italy with Grandson. I'm not the kind of person who makes long range plans. When I decide to go somewhere I usually jump on it.

WDW in April with my DD and my sister, and a cruise to the Southern Caribbean in July:sunny:

Our plans this year are much like last years trip.

We plan to fly to Texas, and visit SeaWorld, all the Six flags and also Schlitterbaun, and also take in some local Texas sites...The hardest part is figuring out if this is all possible in a week as I dont know how far apart things are...we shall see.
