I want to book for Nov 9-14, no room only discounts yet.

I know! We are going 11/9-11/19, so we missed Free Dining by 3 days. We had the Monsters Inc Pin, but couldn't use it, either, due to blackout dates. Then the FD pin came out, and I thought, well we should get that, since we got the last one. Nope. I called and checked a couple times a week to see if I had a Pin attached to my name that I didn't receive via email or snail mail. Nope. Really wanted Free Dining, as for us it would save us over $1,000. But, I thought, at least we should get a Room Only discount. But where are they? Every day I think,'This will be the day they come out'. I am honestly thinking that we may not get a discount at all.:sad1:

But, really, what is the worst case scenario? We get to go to Disney! Hard to be that upset!

Hopefully something should be out soon......I hate when they wait so close to the actual date before they release the discounts.

i booked yesterday for nov. 4th-10th without any discounts. still hoping for something but not looking good. what number can you call to see if there's a code waiting for you?

I'm in the same boat....I haven't booked anything though. For me the problem is that there are good airfares available for the 2 weeks that I have open...one in October and one in November. Right now the fares are better for October but my choice would be the week in November. Anyway, I won't book the flights without knowing that I'm getting a little break on the room price.

For us a room discount is a better deal beacuse it will be just my DD and I. We often share meals so we rarely spend much on food. I think the last time we did this girls trip we only spent about $200 on food for 5 days. Plus, I already have park tickets and we both have GAD tickets waiting.

I could kick myself, I had a pin for 40% off all resorts, but it expired July 10th!!! At that time I wasn't even considering going.

mh, if it makes you feel any better i did the same thing. we was not even thinking about going to disney but last sunday i got an email from southwest air for 49 dollar flights. i looked them up and we could get from pittsburgh to orlando for 59 dollars one way and 49 dollars the other way. i told my husband and he said so when are we going? i book right away! we are stay from the 4th to the 10th of november at the movies and with air fare it's under 18 hundred bucks for 3 adults.

Maybe it's just me....but "where's the discounts?!?" is a little presumptious....

why does there have to be discounts?

And just as an aside - Iger and Staggs have both stated that the discounting would be scaled back or altogether ended....though the traditional ones will likely still be extended by my best guess.

That being said....i hope everybody gets a discount (and probably so does disney - because statistically you are more likely to spend more money on merchandise and alcohol that way...where the cash is):lmao:

and just to be clear: i have two dates where we're paying cash in that timeframe and i would love a discount...but i can't reasonably expect one.

I don't expect one, I am just really hoping for one!

mh, Disney mailed us a pin code one time. it arrived the day we returned from guess where? Yep. WDW

oh rie's mom, that one really stinks. i also am not counting on getting a discount but would be nice. we are going with or without one.

It was fine. We laughed about it. Lord knows not getting a discount hasn't kept us away.

I am in your boat. We booked flights and MNSSHP tix and we are blacked out for free dining. I wish you luck on your discount!!

Come on Disney.....Discount for everyone!!!

Of course Iger wants to cut back on discounts! That doesn't mean Disney will be able to do it.

They've been discounting for years -- even before the economy tanked. When have we ever seen resorts available at 1/2 off, which Travelocity was offering last week on CBR and POR??!! Disney may have refused to match the price, but anytime somebody is selling your product for 1/2 off, it hurts the price and perceived value of your product.

If Iger thinks that, as the economy shifts into possibly a long-term case of deflation a la Japan in the 90s, he's going to be able to stop discounting, well . . . all I can say is he's going to need a lot more than pixie dust to do it!

I just hung up with WDW and the CM I spoke to said that the discounts for Oct 3-Dec 17 will be released on Aug 15.

How true this is, well I dont know but I am still going to check every single day and get up super early next Sunday LOL

I was kind of figuring it was going to be then bc the current room discount ends aug 14. I was just hoping it would be earlier. I want to stay deluxe dor the second half of our trip and keep the first half with fd

I tried for room information Oct 29 - Nov 6 at a value and the online planner couldn't find any rooms.
If I call you think they might find me something?
I would prefer free dining but if it's a good discount, I'll use savings for my meals.
Hubby just said find out what it would cost and let's see if we can afford.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
