Edited to fix link.

I feel that AAA differs from Connections in that you do get something for your membership fee - roadside assistance and service. That is why I am a AAA member. The rest is gravy - for me. But many have roadside assistance through other means without having to pay - so there would be no real need to purchase AAA - THEN it would be like Connections.
With Connections, you do not get anything for your membership unless you purchase something - then you get a discount.
It is all depends what your needs are.
And I am sure that you are aware, Lilly's Dad, that you are taking a risk purchasing tickets off of E-bay. If the tickets are not good - you have no recourse through Disney and must pursue the matter yourself. Many people do buy tickets this way, but it it not something that I would like to try. I would rather use one of the ticket wholesalers like Ticketmania, Floridaorlandotickets, Paramount Travel, etc.

Just my thoughts...

Shades of Green sells tickets for Disney and other Orlando attractions (Universal, Arabian Nights, etc. ) to persons who are eligible to stay at the resort. You do not need to be a guest at Shades of Green only eligible to stay there. Their prices for 4 day park hopper is $192.50; 5 day, 222.75 and No Tax.

If you would like to see thier prices for other tickets check out www.shadesofgreen.org

and click on "ticket prices"

Thanks ceburto2!
For those who are unaware - Shades of Green is a Disney Resort dedicated to those who are in or are retired from the US Armed Forces. They are eligible for discounted prices on accomodations and tickets.

in three weeks of hunting(my kinda fun is planning a vacation) I found the least expensive tickets are through disney. 4 day parkhopper is only 192. the tkts on e bay are a royal ripoff

But when you see a ticket price on WDW's site, don't forget to add the tax. That's where most folks mess up. other online ticket brokers usually list their prices with the tax added. Mickey

Welcome to the DIS jeffrey! :) I agree - a lot of the fun of a vacation is in the planning. And I think that you will find many here who agree with you. :)

I do want to say though that I don't know that I can COMPLETELY agree with you that tickets from E-bay are a rip-off. Some people have bought and used them and have had no problems. But it certainly is taking a risk.
If you are referring to the prices that some people pay for tickets on E-Bay - well, I guess it just goes to show that some people are not as knowledgable as most of us on prices of the components of a Disney Vacation. ;)
I heard once that E-Bay is great for sellers - not necessarily for buyers - because a lot of things end up sold for more that what they are worth.

Again, welcome to the DIS. Hope that you have fun planning your vacation here! :)

Once again, may I add go to ticketmania.com. 4 day hopper for adults is $203.00/ kids $162.00. Tax & shiiping is included. It's a great deal. The best I could find after a pretty intense search.

Be sure to check prices on all tickets, different places offer the best on different tickets. I was looking for a 6 PHP, and although Ticketmania had the best prices for a 4 or 5 day PH, FloridaOrlandoTickets had the best 6PHP price of all I checked - and I checked 7 "discount" sources as well as the Disney Store! Be sure to check them all!

Ticketmania is the one you have to call for the prices, right?
If not, the shipping is included?!? I thought it cost to have them shipped to you?

With www.ticketmania.com the tax is included and the shipping is free or they will deliver them to your hotel or you can go buy and pick them up yourself. Mickey

If you order from ticketmania far enough in advance to your trip date, they will ship the tickets to your home with no shipping charges.

Hmmmmm. We're going in August, three of us, two adults, one child.
7 Day Park Hopper Plus:
Disney Club $309.94 Adult (x2) and $248.16 Child = $868.04
Orlando Tickets.com $298 Adult (x2) & $237 Child = $833 + $7 shipping totals at $840.
All taxes included in both. Savings of $48.04
I checked Ticket Mania and their Adult tickets were $308 so they were barely below Disney Club. I stopped there with them.
I guess I'm going with Orlando Tickets!

Can I add another wrinkle? If you have any desire to do a waterpark or DQ while you are there, you might come out cheaper using the 10 Day WP. $335 for adults and $275 for kids. Shipping is $15, but you can also pick it up there for free. Mickey

WARNING WARNING WARNING....
I just got through writing to Paramount. It seems their advertising is a bit off still. I visited the WDW UK website and they do not list Disney Quest as one of the covered admissions with the 10 Day World Pass. Paramount lists it, but I think they are wrong. I'm waiting to hear from them and I will be glad to pass the info along to you. Mickey

WDW UK says......

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10 Day World Ticket
Your 10 Day World Ticket entitles you to 10 days of admission* to the four Disney Theme Parks, with the freedom to visit multiple parks on the same day.
PLUS unlimited admissions to the following:
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
Downtown Disney Pleasure Island
Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex***
PLUS one admission to a Disney Character breakfast
Ticket expires 20 days after first day of use

Do I really have to pay an adult price for my 10 yo? Does Disney check? How would they know?

Thanks for your help on this one.

Tandyc - Welcome to the DIS! :) And what a question to start with. ;)

This tends to be one of those "hot topics" on this board.

Actually 9 year olds are considered adults in the "eyes" of Disney. Disney is on the honor system. No one will ask. You must go with what your conscience allows.

And a note to anyone else who would like to answer this question - I think that I have answered it sufficiently. No judgemental posts will be permitted. And if you would like to Debate this - please do so on the Debate Board. Thank you!

Again Tandyc - Welcome!

To add another wrinkle...my friend, who is a DVC member, told me today that she gets 10% off ticket prices....so, would that be cheaper and does the Disney Stores still sell 4 day hoppers?

BethR says: "Actually 9 year olds are considered adults in the "eyes" of Disney. "

I thought 9 year olds were the last year they were children and 10 year olds were the first year they were kids since tickets say Children (3-9) and Adults (10 and up). Is that correct? Or am I confused?

Hiya Tandyc. Is your name really Tandy? Just wondering because it isn't that common of a name and I have only met one other person with my name.

DVC members only get a 10% discount on the Ultimate Park Hopper (Length of stay) passes, and only if you purchase them at check-in. You can't get the 10% discount on an advance purchase UPH price. However, the 10% does beat the advance purchase UPH price by a good chunk (probably an additional 5% on top of the advance purchase price - I have the numbers, but haven't done the math to figure it out). If you want a length of stay pass and don't have a package, then this is a good way to go. But you have to be staying in a DVC resort on points to get the discount - your friend can't just buy the passes for you if you're not going on her points.

Mur!
