Planning on going to water park first day prior to checking in resort (will do online check in) and then meeting up with rest of family at MK for dinner.
Here is what I am thinking as a timeline, it is doable? Crazy? It is 4 of us 2 adults and 2 kids 8 and 6.
Will have a car

Get to water park (BB) by opening - 10 and leave by 2:00 / 2:30 latest.
Get to Riverside by 3:00 - doing online check in so hopefully will have room assignment by 4:00.
Leave for MK by 4:45 - take monorail or boat and make it to Crystal Palace by 6:00.

I know that it is tight but is it doable? Really don’t want to make dining reservations later than 6:00.
Even though I have a car I am willing to do Minnie Van so that we could by pass the T and T if that would help.

works for me,,,tell family leaving at 4:30,,then they are ready for 4:45,. and if you get room early then even better.

Just need to have alternate plan if room is not ready. Do you all need to take showers? That would be the thing that takes up the time for my family. No way we could do 4 showers with hair in 45 mins (if room open by 4). Or do that stuff at the water park.

Too many WHAT IFS..
use MV or uber not Disney busses.
Going to water park will drain your energy. Sun may make it hard to fill like going to MK.
If you don't get a room by 3:00, plan falls apart.
Have a plan B if problems arise.

That's a lot of things that need to fall into place. Sounds like a stressful start to a vacation! But the biggest unknown is when your room will be ready. No guarantee it's available by 4. And 4:00 is your cutoff for when you'll need to cancel your dining reservation without a charge. Things might go well for you, but an available room will be the key.

It could possibly be done but it would be extremely tight and stressful to me. It’s the unknown of room being ready. Would also need to take luggage to room, find everything while also trying to shower 4 people. You’ll need a minimum of 15 mi s to get family from bus to CP.

Personal choice but to me it sounds like a lot. I’d also agree with @Narcoossee11 that a day in a WP drains us.

If you're staying at POR, I guess this means you're driving to MK and know you'll have to park at TTC. I agree it will be tight. Not only will you need to drive to the MK parking lot and get through the toll booth, you'll need to park the car, ride the tram to the TTC, go through security, get on monorail or ferry, go through park entry tapstyles, and walk down Main Street to CP. DH and I frequently drive to MK in mid-late afternoon, and even though there aren't the crowds as at park opening, it still takes some time to go through the full process. They won't be running as many parking trams, monorails, or ferries as they do at park opening time, so you may wait longer for any or all of those. And I don't know about your kids, but if you're sent all the way down to the end of the row to park your car, how fast can they walk to where the tram picks up?

As suggested above, consider having your dinner clothes in a carryon and changing at the water park. They have showers! And you could drive directly to MK from there.

If you don't get ready at the water park, I'd plan this as transport from POR to MK, to avoid snafus involving the process I mentioned above.
