Are there are any yummy places that y'all prefer to eat that won't cost a small fortune? We're interested in sit down restaurants as well as fast food places like Wetzel's Pretzels.... thanks!

Kathy

We had a meal at Rainforest Cafe and it was excellent. Also had some friends that ate a lot at the La Brea Bakery for lunch and dinner.

We like two places, Rainforest for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and LaBrea Bakery for breakfast.

Rainforest has an unbeleivable atmosphere, great food, and wonderful service.

LaBrea is great for a quick bite to eat!

We've had terrible experinces at ESPN, Naples, and Jazz Kitchen and we no longer eat at any of those!

Unfortunately, because it's DTD, there really isn't anything that I would consider "affordable" for what you get. It's all overpriced compared to what you'd pay for the same thing in your hometown. I'm not saying that the food isn't good at DTD, because there's lots of yummy places to eat, but the prices are not anything close to what I would consider affordable. Of course, we're at Disney, so we expect the higher prices and budget accordingly.:goodvibes

To save a little money on food at Disneyland, we sometimes order delivery (Chinese, pizza/pasta, sandwiches/subs), which has always been very good.:thumbsup2

We ate at Rainforest and had bad service (Entree came out 2 mins after starter, we asked them to take it back, they did, then brought it back again within minutes. Very unapologetic manageress, said as they were in a Disney area they were busy, said i had eaten in DLP, WDW and London based RFC. Very rude lady) All other RFC have been fine, maybe an off day and it wont put me off going back!

We loved House of Blues although the ribs were too much for me! we also enjoyed EPSN despite a 3 hour wait for a table. We plan to eat in different places when we go back!

Our favorite in downtown disney is the Rainforest Cafe, simply because it is so darn cool in there! The kids love the indoor thunderstorms and dancing gorillas. The food is pretty good, and prices are ok considering you are at Disneyland. We have had appetizers from ESPN Zone, and they were quite good. DH loved ESPN Zone, but then I think most guys do. We have also had a quick bite for lunch at the Creole Cafe, and that was good, too. Their prices, if I remember correctly, are very reasonable.

This time DH and I are going alone, so we're going to check out the other places that we normally wouldn't take the kids to.

I go against the popular opinion. Everyone usually loves Rainforest, but I can't stand it. I've given it 2 chances and each time was pretty bad.

What I do enjoy is ESPNZone. Love the Screen room (the one on the right) with the huge TV screen surrounded by tons of others. Plus if you get a booth with a private TV even better. The food was excellent and HUGE portions. I felt the price was typical of bar food, entrees were about $12-14.

Also enjoy Tortilla Joes Cantina, the walk up window outside. The Mexicones are good and different. A fried tortilla rolled in a cone shape filled with typical taco filling, meat, cheese, salsa, sour cream.

The only place we have eaten in DTD is ESPNZone. Besides the horribly long wait, we had excellent service and food.

If you are willing to eat outside of DTD, you should try Mimi's Cafe on Harbor (next to Hojo's). They have wonderful food and service and their prices are pretty good too. In fact, to make it even more affordable, you can split meals as the portions are very large.

For a quick breakfast before hitting the parks, my daughter, especially, loves getting a Jamba Juice. :)

I'll jamba juice every morning if I can. I need that energy boost!

We have eaten at Naples once and I really loved the lasagna. I'm a picky eater so if I was pleased anyone can be pleased. Dont know how affordable it was though.

Hummm....We thought ESPN was very ordinary and we did not care for La Brea Bakery (some kind of pasta dishes) and are in no hurry to return to Naples. However, the $6 deal for a huge slice of pizza and a soft drink at their walk up window is pretty good. We love the Jazz Kitchen, Rainforest Cafe and Tortilla Jo's has some good choices. Like others have stated, you will not find any bargains, but it is DTD and the atmosphere is awesome. You should try Whitewater Snacks by the pool at Grand Ca, it is fairly inexpensive and delicious! Have fun, whatever you decide:)

The walkup window outside Tortilla Jo's has good fast food. For sitdown, the outside eating area for Catal/Uva has great food that isn't too expensive.

I agree with others that eating in DTD isn't considered "budget" eats. They prices are about what I would expect knowing I am at DL. You could try the walk up or outside counters for Jazz Kitchen, Naples, or Tortilla Joe's. The selection is smaller than what is on the menu, but it seems a little less expensive to me. I have only eaten at Jazz Kitchen of the three and it was yummy! We made a PS and ate inside, for the two of us, with dinner, soda, and dessert, it was about $70 or so.

We don't like Rain Forest Cafe, yes they have the thunderstorms inside which is kinda cool, but we didn't like anything other than the atmosphere there. Same thing with ESPN, once you get over the novelity of the recliners, huge tv's and the private tv in some booths, it is regular ordinary food. We thought was over priced, even for being in DL. I had a coupon for $20 and we still had a bill of about $35. And DH only had one beer and I was drinking water. We had wings for an appetizer, and a sandwich for an entree, both were average and not worth the $ we paid, especially with a $20 coupon.

Rainforest Cafe is decent food, not great, at reasonable (by Downtown Disney standards). Jazz Kitchen (upstairs) is great food, but is comparable in price to pricey Blue Bayou and pricier Napa Rose.

Ive only eaten at the Rainforest but It was AWESOME! Wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere and great service "Not the mention the really cute waiters" ;)
