My son loves watching the videos, too, but unfortunately Kinder surprise eggs are illegal in the U.S. due to the small toys (the FDA says they could be a choking hazard). We've found similar eggs at Target and Walmart around Easter, but those usually have candy and stickers, not figures. There are also "blind bags" -- Once Upon A Toy sells different series (e.g., holidays, villains, attractions, classic characters) -- but that's the only thing I know of at Disney World.

Are you talking about Kinder Surprise Eggs? If so, they are illegal in the US (Google them). We used to buy them in Europe all the time for my grandson before we found out they are against the law here.

My son watches those on YouTube too! Like everyone else has said they don't sell them in the U.S. but when I was looking online for them amazon.com had them.

Just know if you order them online and the box is stopped by customs you can end up with a hefty find and be charged with trafficking illegal goods. It is silly but it happens to people all the time over these eggs.

I found a similar "surprise egg" at World Market if you have one of those near you. I don't remember the brand, sorry, I know it wasn't Kinder though. They had an actual toy, not stickers or something, but it was a larger toy so I suppose that's why this brand was allowed. The ones I saw were all toy animals inside. Not quite as good as Kinder eggs, but still enjoyed by my 3yo.

Just to clarify..I've never ordered them and don't plan on ordering them. Just saying where I saw them.

We have two styles of Surprise eggs for sale here in the US.
These have been allowed cause they show a ring of plastic thru the chocolate when opened.
Also the prize is designed to be big enough not to swallow.
I have bought my son both as he also loves those videos.
Added videos for you and your little one to enjoy.

First is Yowie. This is the most expensive one at around $3 each.
I found this one at Its Sugar and at my Local Wegmans grocery store.

Second is Choco treasure. I found these at my Dollar Tree for $1 each.
They are not at all stores. Only one of my local stores carries it.

I've seen these and they just aren't as good to me as Kinder. Kinder was offered the same compromise but they would have to redesign their entire factory just to ship to the US so it looks like they decided not to. I guess the law is that food can't fully cover the toy and in this case you can see the chocolate quickly breaks away from the toy and has a ring of plastic visible form outside the chocolate.

Yes that is correct. I edited to add that info to my post before I saw your reply. :)

It amazes me how children in Europe manage to survive having access to Kinder Eggs, but here in the US we can't manage to have the common sense to keep our kids from choking on everything! I had a really funny conversation about Kinder Eggs with my Norwegian SIL a few weeks ago. We love the eggs and buy them every time we get a chance to go visit the family in Bergen.

i was so surprised, lol, to find they were illegal. she recently found 'blind bags' so if we can get those she'll be happy.

Up in Canada we ban walkers for babies but we allow our children to have Kinder Eggs. Strange.

Toys R Us has Frozen blind eggs - they are not chocolate, they are more like a plastic Easter Egg. They remind me of the toys we would get out of the machines for $0.25 when I was a kid. I think they are $2.50-ish.

They also have blind boxes, I guess you would call them, but they are pretty expensive, close to $5 each. My DD is super into the My Little Pony blind bags and leaves those little guys everywhere.

Is it not CRAZY how all the toddlers will watch these videos for hours!? And the Disney Collector girl that makes dresses for the snap dress dolls out of Playdough? My two year old always wants to watch Eggs! It truly is a phenomenon!

Hmmm, now you've got me thinking. I'm Canadian and heading on an Alaska cruise next summer. We're driving to port (Vancouver), so could easily bring Kinder Eggs for the kids as a Fish Extender gift. But I wonder if they would take them at the port security check before we get on the ship? It technically leaves in Canada but then goes to the US...

I don't think you would have any issue getting them on the cruise as they honestly don't look that hard. I would just leave a note with them that says due to US law pleas enjoy these before you head back to the US or at least break them apart. It is so silly but the toys and chocolate themselves is fine it is just the 2 in the same package. I buy them in Canada, eat the egg, and then bring my toys back no problem.

What in the world is a Fish Extender gift???? Is there a fish holiday in Canada?
