Where are surprise eggs sold?

Do you mean Play-dough surprise eggs? Those are made be the people doing the videos and you'd have to make one yourself. ;) However, my kids are more than happy with just getting the blind bags and similar items. Five Below has a nice selection, but they charge more for their shopkins than Target, for instance.

Well at least it's nice to know my daughter isn't the only crazy one watching YouTube videos of other people opening toys! She loves the surprise eggs, the play-doh ones and anything by CookieSwirlC. She even likes to pretend she's making videos.

I was thinking the same thing! My 6 y/o is obsessed with Toy Genie on YouTube!

There's a Mexican market in my town that sells them. I suspect they don't know they're illegal.

Interesting...Did not know they were illegal in the US. Myself and many of my military friends have brought back Kinder Eggs to the US and never have they been confiscated at customs. Just brought some back this summer!

I don't understand why they are illegal here. The toys are as big as My Little Pony blind bag toys, they should just put them all in the plastic containers like those. My daughter would LOVE these in Disney themed if we had them here. And in chocolate no less.... bonus! :)

The blind bag toys aren't incased in food. They are banned because the chocolate covers the toy 100%. It is stupid thought because they egg capsule make it hard to get to the toy and the capsule is designed to be choke proof for those littler ones who may not peel the chocolate away but rather choose to nibble it away.

I wonder what it would take to get Kinder eggs made legal?

Does anyone know I can buy these Minions Surprise Eggs for my 2 y/o??

This thread explains a lot. Of all the questions customs could have asked when we drove home to the US for Christmas (are you transporting firearms, alcohol, what is the value of the gifts you are bringing, etc.) I swear the only question he asked was "Do you have any Kinder Eggs."

Apparently, Canada is your closest option. I can attest that the minion themed eggs were a big hit, but I haven't seen them in a while. Kinder cycles through different marketing/partnering with the eggs.

We have had these before. No problems. Heck we ordered 50 "Kinder Surprise" eggs - they're packaged differently than "Kinder" eggs - where you have two sealed halves to an egg - one side is chocolate yumminess and the other side is the toy. No problem with our multiple packages getting through customs in California - we live in WA - even when they're shipped from India!

They don't always catch it but just know you are risking a $250 fine for each egg if you are caught. I have had them before and not been caught but around Easter they really crack down on them. Not sure why Easter but I guess that's when a lot of candy stores try to bring them in.

I do love how the US government seems to think our children are idiots. I mean every other country manages to have these products yet still have their children survive childhood.

It sounds like this ones might be legal since from the description it sounds like they had different ones where the chocolate doesn't fully cover the toy.

This one was opened at customs - had customs tape over their opening. These ones are not exactly like the ones banned. They're in two separate areas where a child could not accidentally eat the toy.

They are banned in the US people people are stupid and the toys inside them are a choking hazard.
We buy them when we are in Canada.

Obviously, the French are dumber: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...ree-year-old-french-girl-chokes-a6822626.html

I read the article and this part "It is believed the girl put the toy, described as having wheels, into her mouth. It became stuck in her airway and she could not breathe." makes me think that the girl didn't put the whole thing in her mouth and die because the toy had been in chocolate. It sounds like she had the toy out of the capsule and put the toy into her mouth.
