I thought we could help each other out. We can all post some places we’ve never eaten but want to try, then those people who have eaten there can give their opinion of the restaurants. Feel free to go ahead and posts either places you want to try or reviews, it doesn’t matter which ones. :)

I’ll start: I want to try breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and lunch at Restaurant Marrakesh.

I've had dinner at Marrekesh, its one of my all-time favorites. Its never too crowded in there, and the servers are always so friendly and helpful. I've been there 3 times, twice with my family and once with a group of friends and I've ordered the same thing each time -- the Mediterranean Seafood Platter -- yum!

I'd love a review of Narcoosees. Is this a place where I'll feel comfortable bringing my 6 and 10 year old? They are both good about eating in restaurants and did fine in California Grill, Flying Fish, Chefs de France. Is it the same kind of restaurant? The GF always intimidates me for some reason. Any thoughts?

snoopy, I haven’t eaten at Narcoossee’s, but don’t let the GF intimidate you. You’ll see kids all over the resort—it is Disney after all. If your sons did fine at California Grill and Flying Fish, I can’t see how they would have a problem at Narcoossee’s. :)

We've never eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern in MK or at Fort Wilderness. Thinking about one of these. ANy comments?

I really want to try Teppanyaki, although I have heard complaints about how expensive it is and the portions of food.

Also, 1900 Park Fare and Chef Mickey's. I can't believe I was down there for 5 months and never ate a Chef Mickey's. :earseek:

I'd have to agree with that review of Teppanyaki -- I've been there a couple of times, have not been impressed with the meal (just o.k., I actually prefer Beni Hana) or the portions (pitiful...I always leave hungry!)

Thanks for your feedback on the GF, ead! :)

Liberty Tree Tavern—this is one of our favorites. We have eaten here numerous times for both lunch and dinner. At lunch you order off a menu, and there are no characters. It’s typically a nice, peaceful meal. The food is excellent. For dinner it’s a bit more hectic since there are characters. The food is served family style, and is traditional American fare (turkey breast, ham, flank steak, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans). An apple cobbler is served for dessert at dinner. We have had some good character interaction at dinner, and some not as good. Since we’re adults I think it’s harder for the characters though. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Teppanyaki I haven’t eaten here in years, but I can tell you that they don’t have fried rice (only steamed). For me, the fried rice is my favorite part of a teppan meal, so I was disappointed. I remember the food being tasty otherwise though.

Trails End at Fort Wilderness is pretty good. Lots of comfort food--fried chicken, roast beef, chili, macaroni and cheese, etc, it's not the best food on property (although it's really not fair to compare Trails End to say Artist Point or Le Cellier), but it's pretty good and the atmosphere is fun and for $15.99 for the adult dinner buffet, including the drink--it's a good deal! I'm looking forward to eating here again.

One restaurant that I've always wanted to try: Biergarten in Germany.

My husband and I loved Narccoosses! Its fine to take the kids, but it is pricey. Had the best dessert ever! It was some kind of cheesecake patty rolled in sliced almonds...YUMMMMMM.

LTT is our favorite characture meal at WDW. The best characture interaction around. When our sons were 6 and 11mos, the manager took our older son around to meet the charactures because the baby freaked when he saw them. They sat our baby with his back to the pathway and the charactures made a big deal about hiding behind their hands and stuff to our older son's delight. Not suprosingly LTT was the first place that our younger son warmed up to the charatures a few years later.

Lunch at Marrakesh was a lot of fun. Theres a bellie dancer and she brings little girls up to dance which is always very sweet. I was a little afraid of the food, but it was good.

Hoop Dee Doo Revue at FW is our must do splurge! Fun for everyone! We've even been seated in the worst seats in the house, and we could see everything and had a great time.

How about sit down places at the moderate resorts? Anyone?

We are planning on trying quite a few this Nov/Dec thanks to the MYW Dining Plan.

Breakfast: O'hanas, Park Fair, and Crystal Palace
Lunch: Teppanaki (sp?)
Dinners: Concourse Steakhouse, Park Fair

Our can't miss favorite is o'Hanas for dinner. We are planning to go there twice.

Snoopy,
When we were on our honeymoon, Narcoossee's was our favorite restaurant. We ate there twice for dinner. I don't think you'll have a problem with your kids there. Try it!

We are doing lots of restaurants in July we haven't done before. Here's a list:

Crystal Palace Dinner
Spoodles Dinner
CRT breakfast
Alfredo's Dinner
Chef Mickey's

I can't wait to try them all.

We haven't eaten there in about 3 years but it was delicous! It's my husbands favorite breakfast.

i have eaten at
tonys: dinner. fantastic steaks and appetizers. excellent service ate 2x here.

liberty tree tavern: dinner served in platters. salad, roast turkey, roast beef, pork loin, veggie of the day, homemade bread, stouffer dressing, mac and cheese, apple butter, applecrisp with vanilla ice cream ate 5 times here, excellent food, service can be slow if on a mnsshp night.

crystal palace: lunch and dinner here on 7 different occassions. lunch is cheaper than dinner but less meats available. fantastic food, some southwest flavor on the salads. dessert bar is fresh and variety. characters make the rounds about every 40 minutes. dinner is fantastic on the food.

prime time : 3 xs here for lunch and the last time was horrible, no repeats for me.
poor service, over cooked food mainly the pot roast, meat loaf. fried chicken was very good. went solo here one time and ignored for the larger families.

sci fi: 3x for lunch high priced. had burgers/ reuben/ fish dish/ salads/ chili/ hot dogs. food ok but burgers too dry for us. service is adequate. desserts are the best thing here. if i would go back, it would be for the dessert only.
we felt you are paying for the ambiance here more than the food.

garden grill: 9 visits here as of last october. we loved the food but now it has changed to a menu. not sure if we will try it now for this year's trip.

san angel inn: 4 visits for lunch: dinner is quite a bit more than the lunch menu. try to get seated by the railing so you can watch the boats go by.
dimly lite, tables are close together. food was ok, better than taco bell but an undercut of real authentic mexican food. carne asada was good but small, kids liked the enchiladas. service was slow but with it being so crowded, i expected that.

chef mickey: tried it 2x for dinner. was not impressed both times. loud, crowded and the serving counter for the hot food and cold food was not kept up. when something spilled, slow to fix it. the prime rib was good but not enough to pay over $27 a person. dessert bar very good.
we found the food here not as good as hollywood and vine.

hollywood and vine: tried here 7 times and enjoy the wide variety they have. food hot and good variety. dessert counter good. your server brings you your drink and plates, the rest is up to you. good variety for fish, pasta, meat and chicken. can be used for fantasia show in the package program.

hoop de do: tried it 2 times and loved it. corny as it is, we had fun. food is plentiful. ribs, soup, salad, bread, soda, corn, chicken, stawberry short cake. one time the food was fantastic the other just good.

i know i am forgetting some of the places. i have the free dining program with my package and will be trying new places in sept. spending 11 days there.
i will try boma, park fare, biergarten, and le cellier for dinners.
for counter service will try columbia house and plaza (maybe that is a sit down)

Alabamagirl: :wave2:

I've eaten at Chef Mickey's 2 times for breakfast. I really enjoy it. The food is good. There is a lot of fresh fruit as well as other breakfast buffet foods on the menu. What I like is the characters. I LOVE Mickey and doing this meal guarantees that I can get my picture taken with him.

Biergarten: We've eaten there twice and really love the atmosphere and dancing (DH went up to the dance floor once!). Food is ok--but definitely worth a visit for the experience. It is large table seating--you may be placed with another family.

We're planning first time visits to Spoodles (breakfast and dinner) and WCC for breakfast in August.

On our last trip we tried Cape May for breakfast and really enjoyed it so we're headed back there again. We had Dinner at 'Ohana and also enjoyed it very much but it's not in the budget for this trip. We also tried H&V for the Fantasmic package. I liked it by our kids weren't impressed so we probably won't return there soon.

NO FRIED RICE!! Scratch that, I don't think I want to there anymore.

Ohana's is wonderful if you can afford it. It is definitely worth the splurge. You get so much food, it is unbelievable. My husband and I still talk about it often and we ate there almost 3 years ago! Trail's End is also good as someone mentioned earlier. I was not that excited to eat there, but it turned out to be an excellent meal.

Whispering Canyon Café for breakfast—we tried this for the first time on our trip last December, and we loved it. Of course the atmosphere is a lot of fun, though I think it might be a little tiny bit tamer than it is at dinner. We saw the ketchup trick several times, but we didn’t see any birthday horse riding or anything like that. Our waiter did sit down to “eat” my husband’s food while he was off at the restroom, as well as make my husband an Indian hat which he head to wear during the meal. Too funny! As far as the food goes, it was quite yummy. They have little waffles shaped like pine cones, as well as bacon and sausage, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy, and scrambled eggs. They also have a menu you can order off of, but we didn’t do that. We shared the all you can eat skillet instead.
