Where are best cs salads?

If you skip the sides completely at counter service places, the price of your meal will probably be about $2 less[/b].

Thanks for pointing this out. I didn't realize skipping the sides would be an option as we have the DDP (most often free) when we go. It may be something to keep in mind in case we don't do DDP in the future!

I'll third the goat cheese and roasted beet salad at Sunshine Seasons! I try to get this at least twice during a week-long trip.

Here's a couple of pictures:

Wow, I thought I was a Disney food pro, but... you can do this? The menu implies (probably purposefully) that you can't break things out... So at any CS place, you could ask for just the main portion of the meal (sandwich or burger or whatever) and forgo the sides for a discount? Can you do that with the kiosks at Pecos Bill and others?

Sorry to derail but this is really useful information :)

I did it several times at counter service locations in early December. At Pecos Bill's, I ordered just the 1/3 pound Angus cheeseburger @ $6.29 ($8.69 with fries or apple slices), and at Studio Catering Company I ordered just the turkey club @ $7.99 ($9.99 with sides).

Another vote for the BBQ Chicken salad Flame Tree BBQ in AK! We always eat there and I always get that salad!!!! :thumbsup2

I love love love roasted beets... that salad looks incredible! Looks like candied pecans?

Yes, candied pecans. They are sooooo good!!! The CMs compose the salad, so if you want them to leave anything off, you can. I can't remember if the greens are already dressed or not or if you are able to ask for the cilantro-lime dressing on the side.

I ate several salads at WDW last week. I was disappointed that my favorite BLT salad at Columbia Harbor House was gone. My favorite was the Cobb salad at Earl of Sandwich @ $5.95 minus a 15% AAA discount.

Don't want to hijack thread.....but..... do you have a list of what other restauants accept AAA for discounts???

Some of the restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin give a 20% AAA discount, such as Fresh, Picabu, Dolphin Fountain, and Garden Grove. The more upscale restaurants (Blue Zoo, Shula's, Il Mulino) accept the Tables in Wonderland discount.

There is a yummy roasted beet salad at WPE in Downtown Disney too. It has goat cheese and candied pecans just like the Sunshine Seasons one, but I'm pretty sure the vinaigrette is balsamic based.

I hope so, because to me, cilantro is one of the most vile foods out there. If it wasn't separate that alone would be a dealbreaker for me.

I completely agree with you...cilantro is the one and only food that I cannot take. ick. The roasted beet salads that I have had at Sunshine Seasons have NO cilantro in the dressing...it was a delicious honey & sherry dressing. :)

You could be right about the dressing. I pulled the lime and cilantro thing from the menu posted in the sticky of this forum.

Cilantro seems to be something that people either love or hate. I one who loves it especially in salsa.

We ate at Captain cooks and they had a wonderful poly salad. You can get a chicken or a side. The side was half the price and quite large...

My all time favorite is the BBQ chicken salad at Flame Tree (SO good!)

It's mixed greens, carrots, tomatoes and thin sliced bbq chicken tossed in a viniagrette-- it's simple and so refreshing.

I wound up getting the roasted beet & goat cheese salad at Sunshine Seasons last week and it was one of my favorite meals from the trip. The candied pecans were a perfect addition and the dressing as wonderful. I particularly loved they had red and golden beets on it, and the cracked black pepper on the goat cheese. Wonderful.

wolfgang puck express. they have good salads and a good choice of options for the rest of the crew.

We are going next week ddp free for the first time...trying to watch my weight and am on the liking for some decent salads please! Thanks!
