Hi Tisha! I grew up in DS and graduated from DSHS 1986. We are going to the AKL also but we will be there right after you 6/15/08.

We have made the drive both during the day and at night (no problem cause I don't sleep much).I like the night time it's soooooooooo nice to not have to fight the traffic.:woohoo:

 Used to work at NorthShore Hospital in Slidell. This MS girl loves her LA neighbors...have fun whenever you go...

Seems perfectly sane and normal to me!:thumbsup2

Well let me tell you we had a blast. I really enjoyed hanging with my sister and her kids. It was very nice to have a group of people to hang with and ride with. I was a bit worried that we would get on each others nerves but believe it or not we did not. It was 8 of us, 3 adults and 5 kids (1 - 5 y.o., 3 - 9 y.o.'s and 1 - 13 y.o.. )

On to the details:

1. But boy was it warm....I never recall sweating so much and in so many places....:rotfl: :rotfl:

2. This was my 2nd time going the 1st week of June and I was pleased that the crowds were not bad. Don't get me wrong there were people but I do not think I stood in line longer than 30 minutes for a ride.

3. Sunday we arrived at our Windsor Hills home after a 10 hour drive. We left @ 4:30 am and arrived @ 4 ET. This was after 1 fill up and 2 potty breaks. Let me tell you the house was awesome. See attached for the link: http://www.windsorhillsrentals.com/Royal_Ascot.html. The house looked exactly like the pics do. 5 bedrooms/5 baths, dining room, large kitchen, great room and the garage was turned into a game room. We also had a covered pool. The best part of all was that we were about 10 minutes away from the Disney property...and about 15 minutes away from SeaWorld. :woohoo:

4. Once we got over the excitement of the home we went to WM to shop for groceries and learned the area.

5. We visited Seaworld on Monday, Epcot on Tuesday, MK Princess and Pirate Party on Wednesday :woohoo: (this was so much fun; we rode so many rides back to back, it was unbelievable), Downtown Disney on Thursday and Hollywood Studies on Friday.

6. I was able to partake in rides I had not previously riden: Space Mountain, Tower of Terror :scared1: (this ride was crucial, it took me 30 mins. to calm down afterwards:rotfl:) , Test Track, Toy Story (loved this ride, it is awesome....:3dglasses add to the effect). I was dissappointed that I was not able to ride Rockin Rollercoaster (it was down from the moment the park opened until we left; I even obtained FP's for us to ride later but to no avail.

7. The kids were in awe of everything. I was glad to see they were so excited. Of course I spoiled them; I bought them alot of things to add to the magic. They were so hyper :hyper:; both from the candy and the rides.

Guess what I am trying to schedule a weekend trip for a group of cousins(ladies) in October. :woohoo:

I'm in Houma too! Bayou Blue actually! Do you teach at HL?

Our trip is Dec 6-13 2008 then July 5-15 2009!

hey do you know Martha and Richard Porche? they used to own a restaurant there or in Houma...

Anybody going from Nov 30th to Dec. 6th? My daughter is starting the 8th grade at elearning in Thibodaux. It's a combination homeschool/at school learning center. Anyway, because she'll have more freedom, we'll have more freedom and I'm thinking of taking a trip at this time instead of Thanksgiving when we normally go.

Born and raised in Baton Rouge! I lived there until I was 30, and we've been about 35 miles north of BR since then.

I haven't been to Disney nearly as many times as I wish I had, but I've probably been about 8 or 9 times. The last few I really remember well were in 1984 (Thanksgiving my senior year in HS - stayed at Poly with oldest sis and her kids), 1985 (Thanksgiving my first year of college - my entire family of about 30 went and we stayed in rooms at the Poly, and ate Thanksgiving dinner in that rotating restaurant in EPCOT), 1994 (did MK and EPCOT with my girls who were 1, 3 and 5 at the time plus my Mom and oldest sister - we were visiting in West Palm and did a quick stop on the way back) and 2001 (AS Music with my mom, another sister and my 4 kiddos). Needless to say there have been LOTS of changes since I went as a child.

This September I am headed there with my son, now 13, and 2 of my sisters (they invited themselves to come with us). My daughters aren't even coming. I'm taking the three of them to the beach in August.

I do think we'll plan an early December trip for '09 so we can do the Christmas party since we'll get to do the Halloween one this year, or, depending on how we enjoy the dining plan, I may do a bounceback free dining for next September for the whole family and stay in an AS Music suite for 7 or 8 nights.

We definitely LOVE WDW!!

probably will be a lot less people because of kids going back to school before Christmas break!

Hi,

Just found this thread and wanted to say count us in!

We live in Terrytown (Westbank of New Orleans) and our next WDW trip is planned for Thanksgiving week.

We are so excited! This is our first trip to WDW in November and I am SO looking forward to experiencing the parks in cooler weather. :)

Hi fellow Terrytowner.

I am also going back in Oct. with 7 other ladies...:dance3: I can not wait.

Hi neighbors! I am from Monroe, but moved to BR in 2000. We then moved out to the Watson area about a year and a half ago. I am a Disney nut for sure! And of course, LSU, too! Not sure when we are going back exactly as I am expecting DS#2 within the next 3 weeks. So, probably not until 2010 for us. We are DVC members, so that may put us there earlier if I can't wait so long!

We just got back last week from 16 days in Orlando. Great trip. A CM told us it seemed like everyone she spoke to was from Louisiana.

Now to start planing a Halloween trip.
