Where are all the Louisiana WDW lovers? UPDATED 1ST POST WITH DATES!

How funny that so many of us are connected by HS baseball as well as Disney. My daughter goes to school at Mangham. We were in the Class A playoffs for the second year in a row.

I believe we've chatted before about this!:goodvibes How did you guys do?

Hey guys, I've gone through the posts and have attempted to make a list in the first post on where everybody is staying and when. Thought some of us might cross tracks while on vacation.

Hi. Metairie here...Slidell pre-Katrina. Will be going down to Fourchon this weekend. Nice to see other Disney lovers here. Will be going for Christmas.

The Boquet's will be at Animal Kingdom Villas from Sunday, May 26th - June 1st 2008.

Can't wait.. only days away now!!!

We went for Mardi Gras this year....so, our next trip is not until 2009 :sad1:

I think we will try to rent points from a DVC'er for a 2 bedroom villa at OKW in October 2009. Don't have the exact dates, but we will be going during "Fall Break" which is usually around the 1st and 2nd weekend in October.....

I also wanted to post that if any newbies out there have any questions, feel free to fire away. I can tell you that our first trip back to WDW in 2004 (after 10 years away) was kinda tough. We were trying to do too much and stay in the parks too long each day and it was wearing us down.

The next year was much better. We took it easy and realized that we don't need to kill ourselves to try to see everything because we will probably come back again. We'd go early in the morning...take a nap in the early afternoon...and head back in the early evening (during June). We also planned an entire day away from the parks (in the middle of our stay). We just swam at the hotel and then hit Downtown Disney in the evening for shopping and dinner.

My advice is:

#1 - Don't try to do everything on your first trip unless you are going for a long time (maybe 8+ days).

#2 - Subscribe to Tour Guide Mike's website for $18. You are already spending $1000's for the vacation. He gives you a good list of which parks to visit on which days and also gives you tips on when and where to get for parades and fireworks and all kinds of other useful tips.

#3 - You can never plan too much....plan and plan some more!

Speed :teleport:

I go home a couple of times a year. Obviously, my husband is more willing to make the trip in to visit during football season. I'm from Vacherie, but he's from NO. My sister lives in BR. So when we do come in to visit, we have to take turns.

We will be there May 31 - June 7. We are staying off property at Cypress Pointe (thanks to my aunt's timeshare getaway).

I will have my red Bagalini (spelling?) with a lime green Mickey head and a Tour Guide Mike Mickey head hooked on it. If you see us, please say hi!

Hope everyone is safe after the last two days of weather!

Just have more rain than we need up here! Ouachita's up but otherwise we are still here. Hope everyone else is doing well and has a dry weekend.

Hi, Nice to see you again.

We lost out in the semi-finals at Bringhurst Field in Alexandria. Our guys were ranked 2nd in Class 1A. We had a really great left-handed pitcher (a senior) who had a spectacular season. He signed with LA Tech. I wish he had chosen LSU, he had offers there, but I think he made the right choice for himself and that's what counts.

Last year we lost out in the final game. This was the second year we lost by one run.

Not bad for a little bitty public high school.

Hope your team had a wonderful year too.

I am from Lafayette. Moved here from SO California about 15 years ago. My husband and I bought property in New Iberia that was flooded after Hurricane Rita. The house has been torn down and now we are rebuilding a new one. Doesn't keep me from having a break from pulling nails out of boards. I usually travel solo.

I spent a lot of time at DL. My first trip to WDW was in Sept 2005. I have been back every year.

Staying at BCV - 10/13 - 10/19
