DW just asked me a good question . Most of our ADR's serve seafood (love seafood, just about anything that swims I'll eat :thumbsup2 ) should I order seafood or just stick with steak ?:confused3

Well I know that I personally don't like too much seafood outside of our LA borders. It always tastes too bland. That said I try to eat different seafood. Like I stay away from peel and eat shrimp, but I will order an Ahi Ahi or Tuna steak. I don't like too many white fish either(besides catfish), they taste funny to me.

I agree with MrsKraemer for the most part, however the chilled shrimp with seaweed salad at Coral Reef is excellent. The steaks that I've had at the restaurants are very good.

Lafayette here!
We are heading out of town on saturday and coming back June 1. WOO HOO!

My first trip since leaving New York (my home state ) almost 12 years ago!!

First trip with the kids!

It depends on where you're going...we've had some excellent seafood at quite a few Disney places! Feel free to PM me your list and I'd be happy to let you know if I can recommend anything.:goodvibes

Guys this will be our 1st time driving from N.O. so can you give me advice on what time of day to leave for DW and how long does it take? ?

I'm in Monroe and it takes us a good 16 hours. :moped: (unless you take a wrong turn in MS like we did then it may take 18 hours ::yes:: )

We are driving overnight this year so maybe it will be easier on the kids.
Hope this helps!

We have driven from Gonzales twice and it takes about 12-13 hours depending on speed and potty stops....

First time we left about 7am and drove straight through. Got there around 9pm. Much more traffic, you are facing the sun, kids were awake....ect...

We drove over night last time. Left out house around 9pm...The kids do much better. Not as much traffic either. We got to POP right around 9am. Now me and DH were tired but the kiddos were ready to go. That is something to consider. We ate breakfast at POP and just hung out for a little while and headed over to DTD. We didn't plan a park day on arrival day b/c we just wanted to relax. It was nice to do that. Good luck!

We live in Houma. In February, we left at 4 AM, stopped to eat breakfest in Pensacola around 7:30, and drove the rest of the way straight through. It took us about 9 /12 - 10 hours to drive. We got there aound 4PM EST.

We haven't lived in LA for the past 3 years, but we are originally from Mandeville (north shore). We got back 3-4 times a year to visit family.

Last June met the rest of our group at Loyola. Left Loyola Dr. and I-10 at 2:30 a.m. Even with potty breaks, breakfast, and a minor car incident, we were shopping in Downtown Disney be 2 p.m. their time.

This time we are leaving tomorrow at midnight. I called and made sure that we could check into our condo early because we have a 5 p.m. Chef Mickey ADR.

We have found that driving during the night is so much easier traffic wise. The kids really slept till breakfast at 8 a.m. in Tallahassee.

Have a safe trip.

I'll be going back to WDW in Feb,or May. I haven't decided yet. I'd like to go the week of Mardi Gras because I'd only have to take of for 3 days instead of 5,but I don't like that the parks will be closing early, the parks that have EMH will be packed because of this,I don't like having to pack 2 sets of clothes, the kids won't be able to swim, and the parks will be full because of the people up north that get out for school breaks....

I think May would be more ideal. My dd could miss the last week of school, since they don't do much anyway, the weather would be nicer, the parks open longer,I just hope I can make it to May :)
