My friend and I are going to Disney for 11 days in April. We'll be only going to Disney during this trip. Yet there's part of us that would love to do some shopping. The last time I was in Flordia it was in St. Pete's and I got some wicked shopping done (compared to what I can get in my small provience). So I was thinking it be great to be able to do some clothes shopping and suck while in Flordia again.
So i'm curious, is there anywhere semi close by that makes for good shopping? I know not in walking distance but taxi distance? How much would a taxi cost maybe from DTD?
Just curious on any input anyone might have. I'd love to hear some opinions!

Oh definitely!! There are several large outlet malls....one right outside the exit closest to Downtown Disney. Then there are the Prime Outlets on I-Drive.

The Orlando Premium Outlet is nearby and the cab ride isn't that much if you leave from DTD (the last time it cost $10 but it depends on traffic). There are some great deals there and a lot of stores I don't have at home. It's definately worth a visit!

So are these the ones on I-Drive? What's I-Drive? haha :) If it is the same is it then that the "large outlet stores" as ChristusG put it between the two places? (DTD and I-Drive)

Sorry I have no clue about anywhere outside of Disney

"I Drive" is International Drive, a main thoroughfare through Orlando. The far north end has the Beall's outlets (not worth the cab fare, imho) which are quite far from Disney. The south end, which is not far at all from the Downtown Disney area (maybe a mile or two) is where the Premium Outlets are. WELL worth the cab fare and a day spent there! You'll find everything from Dooney & Bourke to Burberry to Tommy Hilfiger. Have fun!

awesome, now i just need to figure out what day to break for the shopping haha. Everything is so planned out :) any other opinions are welcome and appreciated :goodvibes
Thank you so much to the people who have replied so far

Oh, so where would you tell the cab driver you'd want to go? Where's the cloest place to get dropped? :)

The Premium outlets, Millenia (SP?) Mall, and Flordia Mall are great places to shop. None of which are terribly far away, so if you have a car or are willing to get a taxi those would be your best bet.

Thanks to everyone, now I just need to figure out what day to do the shopping :goodvibes Would you suggest leaving early in the morning? What time to stores open? Will it be an all day thing you think? How many stores are there, what stores are there? (ie any information you have gimme gimme!) :)

Just want to say, I love the Florida Mall! Definitely go there! So many stores.. We spend a whole day there!
