OP, In answer to your question, yes, this This is a heckuva lot of trouble to save $60. If you were saving $160, then, maybe.
Have you checked to see if there are any special offers for either the extra night or your entire trip? Those seem like somewhat high rates for an All Stars.
But forgetting all that, there is somewhere close to zero danger of anything happening to you, other than possibly tripping or running into someone who wants to talk your ear off, on your way to a non-preferred room at an All Stars. WDW property is extremely safe.
