When you wish upon a star..Hannah's make a wish trip

Heather!! I can see y'all had SO much fun in DHS!!! I showed Lance the pic of the Cars...we're both bummed we never saw them. Your kids' outfits were so perfect for this day! I'm so glad Hannah got to see all the Toy Story characters. How sweet of Woody, saying he loved Bullseye like that! I love that the characters get so into the kids wearing these customs. It makes it so much fun. I was so proud of how my kids looked every day--weren't you? I'm so glad you all had so much fun. I have loved reading your TR so far. Can't wait for more!!! I know it's time-consuming, though!

I am so jealous that you got to see Lights Motors Action (or whatever they call the stunt car show) Mike and I love that show and it will not be happening while we are there:sad2: Your kids look so cute in their Toy Story clothes. I love the Bullseye dress. Last year at Christmas, we spent many hours searching for a Bullseye toy for our grandson Mason. We finally found one at K-Mart two days before Christmas! I am so excited to do the new Toy Story ride.

Thanks for the wonderful pictures! I am loving your report!:cheer2:

Denise

Heather! Wow, you are going to town on your TR!!!

I am so with you about the lice thing! As soon as you said dress up clothes, I was thinking "Lice!"

We haven't been to Sea World in quite some time, we need to do that again some year. You guys look like you were having so much fun!!!

I love seeing the Bullseye dress in the parks!!! Heather did such a great job on that! I'm so glad that Hannah got to meet Woody and Buzz while she was wearing it!

I can't wait to read more!
Heather really did make a beautiful dress.Everyone loves it.I am amazed at the detail of it too.The stiching even looks like a lasso.

I tend to take notes as I'm reading trip reports so I remember what I was going to say. So, bear with me!

I'm loving your report!!!

I feel for Hannah being nervous about new things. I understand that feeling completely!

The story of the kids that were adopted from the Ukraine really touched my heart. I really wanted to adopt Ukrainian angels of my own (I did a lot of research on it), but Henry was not convinced. :sad2:

The pressed penny machine in the bathroom story is priceless!

I am askeered of sharks!!! REALLY askeered!!!!! I went through that tunnel when I was a kid and I was terrified!

"I just need to throw a fit for a while" :rotfl: I understand that feeling, also!

I would NOT be eating fish next to a shark tank...just sayin'....

Your hubby is a handsome guy and you're quite pretty yourself!

I'm sorry about your cousin

I know what you mean about not being in your vacation pics! Most of the pictures of me are taken by me!

Oh my gosh, I LOVE the picture of Hannah and Pluto. That is one happy girl!

I love that Logan was as far away from Mickey as humanly possible in the family pic!

I always think of lice whenever I see pics of people trying on hats at Disney!

I always tear up when I see the Disney sign!

Hannah looks so cute on the Toy Story ride!! I haven't been on it yet, but I can't wait to try it when we go in February.

How cool that you put the Bullseye outfit I made on Hannah on the same day as the Cars outfit that Jeanne made. Our kids are engaged to be married, you know (Tessa and Luke)! :lmao:

I also hate the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. My kids have never gotten to play in it because I freak out if I can't see them!

Oh, you made my day by saying how much the Toy Story characters fussed over Hannah's dress! :cloud9: I now have fingerprints all over my screen from when the kids saw the Buzz and Woody pictures! Tessa also keeps asking me when I'm making her a Bullseye dress.

Please, don't encourage her!!!
Although, she does have a super-cool siggy now! :rotfl:
Oh boy, the handsome husband I have to agree-but once he reads this he will get a swelled head! He kind of looked funny it that weird hat but since he shaves his head, he needed it so the sweat would not be running down hs face every minute! By the way, I think Tessa and Luke are perfect for each other-they are both so stinkin cute! Can I come to the wedding?

Great updates! I love Hannah's face in her pictures with Pluto..you can see how excited she is. Logan seems like such a great brother, being so patient..you've done such a great job!
Logan really is a great brother. Some people think that having a sibling that has a disability is hard on the child-I think the opposite.Logan is very patient and caring child when it comes to Hannah. They really are best friends.(although we do have the normal sibling fighting at times!)

Hannah got the prettiest dresses! What wonderful pictures!:goodvibes I hope they had the best time ever!:grouphug:
I felt so proud at the parks when the kids were wearing the clothes.

, Bummer that you didn't see the Cars. It's amazing how much there really is to do and see.I started getting down on myslef about what we missed-but realized it is really impossible to do it all.

I am so jealous that you got to see Lights Motors Action (or whatever they call the stunt car show) Mike and I love that show and it will not be happening while we are there:sad2: Your kids look so cute in their Toy Story clothes. Thanks Denise, Hannah really loves Toy Story. She has a little bullseye toy she LOVES.I think you will love the new ride.It is so much fun.

After leaving Woody and Buzz we walked around a bit and I think we went into one gift shop, where we did some pressed pennies(thanks for the penny tubes Sonya-they were perfect. No searching for change!)I bought a picture frame.I wanted to get one from every park, which I did but forgot one from Epcot-bummer! We wandered down to the big hat area and they were beginning a show-High school musical I think. The kids are not that into it but Paul really wanted to ride one of the big rides so I decided this would be a good place to wait for him, as we could sit and watch the show.He grabbed Hannah's button and took off for the Aerosmith Rockin Roller coaster. We sat for a few minutes and then Hannah needed to use the bathroom-NOW. Did I mention that I was alone with Logan in a stroller and Hannah in her wheelchair? Well, Lets say I got pretty good at driving them both at once and found a bathroom nearby. We went inside and Hannah went to do her thing.I won't go into detail but Hannah was taking a LONG time. This woman came in and changed her baby.I am not sure what that baby had been eating but I think it must have been curry.I was trying hard to be polite but I was ready to loose my lunch.Logan was even gagging a little. We were trapped in that smelly bathroom while Hannah did her thing, very slowly. Finally Hannah finished up and we were out into the sweet fresh air! We made it back to the area we were going to meet Paul.He came back like five minutes later. That button is wonderful.Even though Hannah was not with him they let him into the fast pass line because he explained that the wish child was waiting for him.He LOVED that ride.I kind of wish I could have done it too, but I was happy none the less. Then after a few minutes we spotted these guys:

I wondered if Hannah would be scared of them but no way! She ran right up and hugged them all. They were really funny. Will someone please tell me if that one in the middle is from Snow White??? I guess I am just not up on my witches. She was so in character-so regal acting. She turned to me and said" Did you sew her frock?" I explained where Hannah's dress came from and she looked pretty impressed.I was trying hard not to laugh at the way they are so into it.It is really quite an experience and I found myself really thinking they were real! I give these people lots of credit. They are really good at what they do. Then we were able to see all of these characters, Hannah was LOVING it.
DSC001182.jpg

DSC001192.jpg

They were so sweet to Hannah and took their time with her.Hannah LOVES those princesses!
We then were able to see Aladin and Jasmine!
DSC001202.jpg

DSC001212.jpg

They were great too.I have to say that all these characters were really spot on.Gotta love that disney magic! By this time it was getting to be about 6:00 and we decided that we would wrap it up for the day and head to Down Town Disney for a bit.I would have loved to stay all night but we really got to the point where we were just done.We were really hot and tired and I needed to see DTD.

Wow, that was an amazing character run-in! So cool! And yes, that is the Wicked Queen from Snow White. I happen to have that Halloween costume--for myself :rotfl: I wore it one year when Lily was Snow White. I may have to wear it again this year to Mickey's Trick-or-Treat at Disneyland because I don't know if I'll have time to make a Fairy Godmother costume.

Okay, I'm a sucker for kids, have two of my own and I was literally tearing up reading the first part of your trip report alone. I'm so glad to hear that Hannah has gotten her wish granted! It sounds like you and Hannah have a guardian angel in your grandfather :goodvibes
Can't wait to read more!

I'm loving your report!!!!!!!
Thanks, glad to have you aboard!

Thank you so much.I feel like I do have a guardian angel for sure.I have lots of stories on that subject but most people just roll their eyes at me!

Fun update
Thanks!

"Did you sew her frock?" is killing me, I am laughing so hard.

What great pictures!

After leaving Hollywood studios we headed to Downtown Disney. For those who have not been yet DTD is a place near the parks that is all open air shopping with a Disney theme. It is a HUGE area which we were soon to find out.We parked in the nearest parking lot with was near the Cirque de sole(I probably didn't spell that right) We had to return Logan's stroller every day at the parks so we only had Hannah's at this point. We finally found the guide map and discovered all that we wanted to do was at the opposite end.Se we started walking.Logan immediately got tired. We took turns carrying him.Thank goodness he does not weigh much. Finally we spotted the Lego store.Logan LOVES legos. As we speak there are probably about 15,000 on the floor around my feet.

All those creations are made out of Legos.Pretty amazing.Logan had a good time in there getting his Lego on.He was able to build his own lego people to take home.We picked up a couple of kits and then the kids found a play area outside.I forgot to add before the lego store we made reservations at the Rain Forest Cafe which was at the top of my list. The gave us a seating time of 7:40, which is pretty late for the kids but we didn't have much choice as everywhere was pretty crowded. The time passed pretty quickly and we headed back to the Cafe for dinner.
DSC001352.jpg

I really wish I had taken more pictures at dinner. This place is so amazing. The ceiling is covered in vines and flowers. They have animatronic animals hanging around such as butterflies and monkeys. You really could look at everything all evening and not see it all. When they call your name you are told which line to get in.We were told we would be seated in the gorilla room.We followed the monkey tracks on the floor. They had amazing fish tanks to look at on the way. Some areas of the place it was raining in.They had neat fountains too.Even the bar stools were shaped like animal rear ends.

Did I mention that every 20 minutes there is a thunderstorm in there? It gets dark and the lights flash and the animals start going nuts.Way cool.Even the kids enjoyed it and they are not real fond of thunderstorms.Dinner was really good.I had a nice juicy burger which rocked, Paul had salmon I think.Hannah got chicken fingers and fries(noticing a theme here?) Logan a pizza. We ate until we were stuffed.

DSC00146.jpg

This picture is not one of my best- I was tired and had no makeup on anymore. But I was feeling no pain.I had a lovely margarita and was feeling pretty good!I thought it came in one of those silly light up glasses and it didn't, but when Paul got the bill he asked the waitress to bring me one of those funny cups.I probably won't be drinking out of that cup every night at dinner ,but I thought that was nice of him and the kids got a big kick out of it.
DSC001062.jpg

After dinner we breifly popped into The world of Disney store and Hannah did the make your own crown.I probably should not have wasted any money on that but she seemed to like it at the time.It probably go straight to the bottom of her toy box.
To be continued:

Hannah then spotted some friends, I love how she even hugs the statues.

DSC001382.jpg

This mouse always gets me, he looks so sad.In fact the whole movie Dumbo makes me sad, but Hannah loves it.

Hannah loves these dresses made out of barbies:

By then it was getting pretty late and we started the long hike back to the car.Logan fell asleep in his clothes on the way back to the villa.I love when you get to the gate at Give Kids the World, they always say "welcome home!" We carried the kids inside where Logan was so out cold, he didn't even wake up when I washed his stinky feet.I let him sleep in his clothes that night.

Ok all, I need your help. When we return home I plan on taking our pictures and making a slideshow of them.I often use the site Onetruemedia.com and they usually come out really nice. That way I can send it to family members out of state and they can get a little glimse of what our trip was like.I need help with the music choices. So far I have thought of "when you wish upon a star". I am looking for songs that are related to wishing or magic.Something that will convey how special this trip will be.Disney music is great but it does not have to be.Any suggestions?

"Second Star to the Right" from Peter Pan, "I'm Wishing" from Snow White.

Oh, Heather. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your pics from DTD!!! We didn't get to go and I was so sad about that, but that is just one of those "to do next time" things. You took wonderful pics, though. I know you all must have had fun there. The Barbies!! The Legos!!! All the character sculptures (or whatever they are)!!!! Oh, how I would love to go there.

We LOVE the Rainforest Cafe!! We've eaten there from time to time and it is so much fun (if expensive). We have one here in our area of Texas that we've taken the kids to, and then Lance and I ate there for our first married meal in Las Vegas (where we got hitched). LOVE it!! I love their volcano desserts.

About DHS, it looks like you had a great time there, too!! I wasn't sure about all the characters, either. That middle one looked like the Snow Whitequeen to me, too. Is the tall one Jafar? Don't know the third one. From Alice, maybe? I SO enjoyed the villains playing their parts. I guess the only ones we ran into were the Cinderella gang. SO much fun. The twins didn't quite know what to think about them, though!!

You take wonderful pics! I can't wait to see more!!! I've been worried that I'm boring people with too many pics, but I love seeing all yours.

Amy, I am glad you like the pictures. In my book you can never have too many pics.If people don't want to look they will just skim through them.I LOVE to see them in your report.Ths was our first rip to the Rain Forest Cafe and have to say it did not dissapoint us! We LOVED it there.
As for the villans, I beieve that was Jafar, the snow white queen(Malificient?) and I think the queen of hearts from Alice in wonderland.I didn't think to get their autographs- I was too excited to think about it!(Now I am kicking myself!) I would have loved to see the Cinderella gang.We missed the toon town tent and the only other princesses she saw were Belle,Sleeping beauty,Jasmine and Snow white. We also saw Cinderella briefly at the Cinderella's royal table. This just makes me sick knowing we missed all that but Hannah does not know the difference and she was so happy with who she saw.

Tuesday morning we woke up bright and early and headed over to the gingerbread house for breakfast. After we ate we went to the corral area where they were having horseback riding that morning. The kids did pet the horses a bit but didn't want to ride them.I found myself so torn often at the village. There was so much to do there but we so didn't want to miss a minute of disney. We found that Disney stuff often won out over spending time at the village.

DSC00118.jpg

We packed up the van and headed to Animal Kingdom. We knew that there was no way we could do it all today because we had to split the day with Epcot. When we arrived ,before we even got inside the gates, we spotted a whole bunch of characters. The cast members were all so nice and took Hannah right to the front for every meet.We saw Pocohantas first and she was incredibly sweet.Paul laughed so hard when she wanted to know if he was Hannah's "chief".

We went on the see Meeko, Flik,Rafiki, and Timon.Hannah was in heaven.

We had not even made it in the gates yet and already it was shaping up to be quite a day.

I can't believe all the characters you saw at Disney Studios! I've never seen those characters there! Lucky!!!

Isn't Downtown Disney wonderful? It's shopping heaven to me!

Wow, look at all the characters you've already seen at Animal Kingdom! I love how they have them a bunch of them when you walk in. The lines aren't usually too long there, either! It gets you right into that Disney mode!

subbing. I recently took my 2yo Dniece to WDW and loved the experiencing Disney for the first time through a child's eyes. We've been back almsot 2 months and she still talks about what she did and saw all of the time. I can't wait until I can take her back again!
