When you receive a transfer of borrowed points...

I've read that you can receive a transfer of another member's 2011 points into your 2011 points, but when this occurs, who pays the Maintenance Fee on those points when it comes due?

I believe that you probably are talking about a transfer of "regular" points, since one cannot transfer borrowed or banked points. But to answer your question, the owner pays all maintenance fees on any points.

I have transferred in numerous times and have never paid any type of fees on the points. Remember transferred in points do retain the use year and home resort of the owner, so if the use year is different than yours, those points could possibly expire later or even earlier than your other points. That is why I prefer to transfer in points that have my same use year and even same resorts. It is a good way to get the 11 month advantage at a home resort other than yours if that is also your goal. Just keep in mind if the home resorts are different, you can only make reservations using the number of points at the "11-month" resort.

As said you can not received borrowed points in a transfer, what you can receive is 2011 points in their origonal UY, be aware that you can not borrow them forward.

Once they are yours you are clear even if the owner does not pay the dues.

MS will not allow the transfer unless both member's accounts are in good standing ( all MF's and payments up to date ).

You may bank points transferred to you if banking deadline for those point's UY has not past.

And just a note here that transferred points do retain their original use year and Resort as well.
