I bring my laptop to load questions and to sign on now and then. I am not on that much while I am there though, but long enought to <s>rub it in</s> say hi to my family and friends and check work e-mail. I dont' need to do it, but it is nice being able to check in and keep in touch with everything while away

I go into massive withdrawal. I don't have a laptop. But I can receive email on my phone.

It really depends on where I'm going.

If I have internet access, I'll log on. But most of the time I don't, so I take a complete break.

DH would probably divorce me if I brought a laptop on vacation, and I gotta say, I wouldn't blame him.

Incognito for us. No cell phones, no laptops, I rarely even read the newspaper on vacation, which is weird for me since I read it cover to cover every day. Only our close family members know where we are and we like it that way. I figure that week or two is mine to completely cut off from reality.

Well this upcoming April will be my first vacation with a laptop, and I'm bringing it with because it has a DVD player in it. That will be good for the 5 hour plane ride!

I don't know if I'm going to log on yet, but I have the option because the hotel we are staying at has free high speed internet access.

We're the same way. If it is a fairly long vacation (like to Europe) we might hunt down an internet cafe since invariably we beat our postcards home.

No sorry, I love the Disboards and love to DIS but. Vacation is family time. No cell phones (only in emergency's), no laptops, no internet, and we try and stay away from the television.

My husband always has his laptop with him since he never gets a complete work break. I'll check in with friends and answer e-mail but that's about it for me.

It depends where I go---if I visit my folks--I use their computer. They have DSL which I do take advantage of to surf-but I don't check my e-mail. My in-laws, I sometimes use my mother-in-law's notebook-but not a whole lot.

We switch our computer off, leave for the airport and then it's NO internet for 2 weeks!

I have never been tempted by the access in the airport or hotels, it's good to get away from it all completely.
