What should I include? Nonsmoking, adjoining rooms with my inlaws, bunk beds in one room, ...should I say anything about that we'd love a complimentary upgrade if it's available? Or is that tacky? Does it just happen if it's going to happen, or do you ask for it? We're staying standard view, but I'd love a woods view of the castle (at WL) if possible - but I don't want to pay for it - LOL! :p

What else should I include in my faxed room request - I've never sent one in before.

Keep it brief. I think the one on Deb's site is a little wordy... I would mention your trip dates, then what you would prefer.

Prioritize your requests, listing what is most important first. The room assigner may not be able to fulfill everything you want, so decide what is your top request and list it first.

As for upgrades, I would not ask for one in a room request. JMO, it's tacky. If you want an upgraded room, reserve & pay for it. There's precious little that's free at Disney! ;) Occasionally, magic happens and people get upgraded for free, but I would not get your hopes up.

When you check-in, you can ask about upgrades, but again be prepared to pay for it. No matter what you get, it will be a magical trip.

I prefer not to send in a fax. When we go to check in we ask then and have always gotten what we asked for. Sometimes the Disney Magic works also and have gotten better than we requested.

Rooms are assigned as you check in, the earlier you can get there, the better. The requests you fax or give at the time you book room are put into the computer and they know what you request, but the manager at CBR told me that they do not actually assign the rooms until you are there in person in front of them, so if the room you request is still available when you make it up to the CM's window, you will probably get what you asked for.
