have to go through that entire automated system each time?
Could you please tell me what number you call.
Thanks....this board is a wealth of information.

Yes, I call the main number (407-W DISNEY) and go through the automated system. I chat with the CM a little bit and then ask if there are any discounts (PINs) available for my household.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks. Do they have a record of how often you call?? i wondered if they ever get annoyed if you call a few times a week.
Do Pin codes come out randomly, or does just one come out every so often and distributed randomly?

I'm not sure what I do wrong but the few times I've ever called to ask if I had a PIN, the CMs give me the "if you had a PIN, you'd get one through the mail or in your email" speech and never sound happy that I asked them to check.

Maybe I just have bad luck or they're being told not to answer the question so people won't call back on a daily basis.

I don't call often for a PIN but I get sooooo frustrated with that darned system!!! I'll answer a few questions but when it starts getting rediculous, I just start saying "Operator" over and over and over and over again. It gets me to a live person quicker.

I read something the other day where a CM said they "sent out another batch of pins this week." Take that for what it's worth but my guess would be regular batches. Probably not everyday.

I probably screwed my chances of getting a pin by booking F&W events this morning. But who knows. I've been telling every CM I talk to that my backup plan is the Swan. (And thanks, but I'm not booking it through Disney when Travelocity has a great discount.)

DSis has an account too, so maybe she'll get one.

A couple of calls ago, (ok, maybe it was 10 calls ago...:rolleyes1) the CM was really trying hard to find me a discount and I'm not sure which program he entered into on his computer, but he started to chuckle and asked me 'did you know you have called 16 times about this'. I told him 'how embarrasing' and he said not to be embarrased and to keep calling in to check. That is the only time this has been mentioned to me so perhaps this info isn't found on the regular pages the CM checks?

So when you call, do they just give you the pin to use on the site? Or do you have to book through them with the pin?

I have never called for a code before. I do get them in the mail sometimes, but it was never during a time we could use it. It never occurred to me to call to see if I have one.

You have to call to use your pin code. I don't think there's any way to book online with our pin. It would be really nice if the pin was linked to our account online so we could easily check rates/availability without calling! It still amazes me that Disney does not have an 800 number, although I do remember a few years ago, when I bought tickets at the Disney Store, there was an 800 number to call for all things Disney. I think it was linked to the same reservation system we all use. I guess it was kind of a little bonus for buying the tickets at their store.

You could always just hit 0 (zero). It works on most automated systems. :rolleyes1

You can book online with a pin.

If you already go 2-3 times a year, you probably won't get a pin. Disney can see that you are willing to visit without a discount. We go 1-2 times a year and we have never received a pin either. I think they are on to us.:)
