i'm just curious about something.
when you buy a resale, especially if it's someone else's add-on contract(s), you're buying a Contract# that is tied back to the Seller's original contract#.

i.e. i got 2 contracts that were #12345.003 and $12345.005

so, i'm assuming the original owner has contracts #12345 and #12345.001 and #12345.002 and #12345.004

doesn't this get confusing for MS?
so do Resale buyers get assigned new contract#s for their new purchases?

If you purchase a resale from Disney then you get it added to your original Contract #...if you purchase from an outside source then you get a new #...

Not sure if it causes any problems for Disney...

A related Question !!

I see resales for under 150 points when 150 is the minimum. How do these come about. I am guessing that it is an add-on but are not add-ons part of your original contract?
Can someone explain how this works.
- the relationship between an add-on and your original.
- how a small (under 150 points ) contract comes about?

from the note above with all the simular numbers I am confused !!!

150 points is the minimum to purchase through Disney. People may be selling off some of their points. Resales have no relation to the minimums Disney sells.

okay, so because i bought these by resale (through broker), the original contract#s:
#12345.003 and #12345.005

would be renumbered by Disney to something like:

#98765 and #98765.001

is that right?

pat-rick, for clarification, I have my original 230 (the minimum in 1992) point contract, an add-on for 25 pts, an add on for 50 pts, and an add on for 40 pts. I can sell each add-on separately as a smaller contract even though they are sub contracts of my original (.001, .002 & .003). I can not break up my 230 point original contract into 150 points and 80 points for resale. It would have to be sold as a 230 point contract. Only Disney can cancel and break up points from a contract after exercising their buy-back (Right of First Refusal) option on a resale.

Disneyberry, I can't answer your question - no experience with that particular situation.

Less than 150 points are add ons. DVC can give you the same or a different number if it's the same use year, you and they would both be better off with the same number.
