When ya order a beer

Self admitted beer snob here. As another PP mentioned life is too short to drink crappy beer. Bud, Coors, Miller and all of their subsidiaries are an abomination to what beer is meant to be. It's all watered down with corn & rice fillers instead of pure malts & hops. I'm not proud of myself (okay, maybe I am), but I have cast several disgusted glances at people sipping on a Bud Light, Pabst, or whatever.

I homebrew and patronize all of my local micro-breweries. We also have a great distributor who will help me seek out and sample some of the finer beers from around the world.

Honestly, I think if a lot of people actually got the opportunity to try some true ales & lagers from outside the heavily marketed brands, they would find out for themselves how awful the beers they've been drinking truly are.

Sorry for the rant, but, as a homebrewer, beer is a passion of mine.

I like beer, but it doesn't like me. I have to drink it very much in moderation. I like Blue Moon with a nice big slice of orange. I like Stella, Shock Top, Yuengling and Corona with a lime slice. I will also drink light beer on special (like Miller and Bud when we go out to eat). I had some summer lemonade flavor beer, a couple years ago, that was yummy.

I am on a 'Dos Equis' kick. I have to say that it is pretty smooth for a lager. They say it is lager that is like a pilsner. It is perfect for me.

We just discovered that our local supermarket carries Longboard Island Lager, which we tried for the first time at the F&W Festival last October. It's a great summer beer, and a fun reminder of our last trip to WDW.

Tusker is the only kind I can even drink a little bit of. I am not a beer drinker but when I was a teen and trying to be "rebellious" I drank Tusker. :goodvibes

Shiner Bock ftw. I'll try micro brews as a backup, then Bud Light as a last resort. After that, it's regular soda instead of barley soda.

I'm much more likely to drink wine or a mixed drink, but if drinking beer I usually drink Bud Light. I had a Harpoon the other night and that was really good.

Draft Blue Moon <3

I'll secod that with an orange slice. Out here at DCA the have it on tap in frosted glasses and they already know to serve it with a slice of orange,:lovestruc We even found a quiet out of the way place to escape the crowds and enjoy one.

Whatever draft beer that was recently made closest to where I am sitting. :thumbsup2

Pale Ale or darker.

As far as beers that most places carry, always Blue Moon (as long as it's on tap.) Corona would be my second choice.

If we are out having a beer...my DH and I will try something on tap. The latest one was a Blue Moon.

If there is a Spotted Cow on tap - that is my "go-to" tap beer. We have tried Fat Tire beers, Sprecher beers, Leinenkugel's along the way...

Although...we generally get mixed drinks when we are out.

If I order a beer, it's because I'm dying of thirst & there are no Black Russians, water or murky puddles available.

I detest even the smell of beer. Of course, the men in my life love(d) beer and I was regularly hit with "just taste this one, you might like it!"

Nope. I have tasted every dark, light, domestic, imported, microbrewery beer known to man and hate them all. My SIL thought a good xmas present for DH was "Mr. Beer" and I hated the homebrewed stuff, too. :confused3

I have a few I rotate between...just depends on where I am, my mood, what I am eating, etc.

Peroni
Stella
Heineken
Corona
Shiner
Blue Moon
Bud

Lately if Im at work it's been Southern Teir Double IPA,Foothills Peoples Porter, Lonerider Sweet Josie Brown, or Blue Point Toasted Lager if I want something easy and simple. Mostly the Southern Teir 2X IPA. If I'm not at work then I'll normally try something new. I will drink pretty much any beer besides "fizzy yellow water". So no Bud Light, Corona, Coors, Mic, PBR, and yes I consider Blue Moon and Shocktop those types of beers. I know way more about beer then most men (yes that sounds sexist but it happens and it is true) I will admit I am a beer snob and proud of it! :drinking1.
