When worlds collide~the original flats meet in 4D!!

I have...but it still does...

must be you then!

:rotfl:

We had the most days of no rain that I can remember in my life this last summer. Of course this fall and winter has MORE than made up for it, though not a snowflake yet.

I don't mind it so much but I grew up here. I'll take it over the Chicago humidity and negative temps any day of the week.

me and my hair don't do humidity.

I love your side of the mountains except for the rain...just don't know if I could handle it.

whose hair does?

I have a couple of friends who love it...maybe it's because they have stick straight hair...

I get in humidity and I have a striking resemblence to Ronald McDonald

I wear a bib while hurling...;)

So, what do you wear when you dookie in your pants?? :confused3

I need help making up my mind! I can't decide where I want to eat on our last night....those in the running are.

Teppan Edo~~ we've been every trip, it's a favorite

Sanaa~~ I'm intrigued by it, but a little unsure...I don't know what half the things on the menu are.

Jiko~~I've always wanted to try it. It's has a good balance of "new" foods and safe like a steak.

Ok, make up my mind for me!

I vote for Jiko. Spendy, but the menu to me looks very intriguing as well. I've not tried any personally, but this one looks like a safe bet for your crew.

I have stick straight hair. I get in humidity and I look like Olive Oyl.

Emphasis on the Oyl.

And it never feels dry....

BLEH.

I hated it.

Not sure which is worst...Ronald McDonald or Carrot Top (minus the red color, I am a brunette)....that is the nickname my DH gives me in the humidity. Then he wonders why I dont want to go swimming after I have spent the morning straightening it:scared1:. He could say I look like Cher in the 80's....at least that is somewhat of a compliment.

On a better note, kind of going along with the shoes topic several pages ago .....I went jeans shopping last night and low and behold they are finally making the waistline at my belly button!!! :yay: It has been a LONG 5 years  I had to pay $60 for them but well worth it. :woohoo:Maybe next year they will finally make them ABOVE the belly button. Now I dont have to show disney my christmas muffin top!! :thumbsup2I am sooooo excited.

On to read "Life is too short to never sleep in a treehouse PTR!" Why do I have a feeling I am going to shed a tear or too! Can't wait. Coffee in hand and ready to go.

I'm glad ours can't learn to drive till they're 17 and that might be going up till 18 as it means I have more time before the tail light years

me and my hair don't do humidity.

I totally agree! Except I live in the humidity. :lmao: I have learned to make it work with certain products. But sometimes there is just too much humidity and if you stand outside in it for more than 5 minutes. Your just poop out of luck!

depends.......;)

That is the single most funny thing I've HAVE EVER READ here!! Seriously, my kids thought they needed to call an ambulance I was laughing so hard.
:rotfl2::rotfl2:
I agree! i think I woke up the family with my laughing

I know what you mean about the waist on pants.....muffin tops are never good...not to mention the crack you show every time you sit down.

I just noticed your ticker...how long are you going to be there?

yes, cynthias ptr will make you cry...and laugh

I'm glad ours can't learn to drive till they're 17 and that might be going up till 18 as it means I have more time before the tail light years
I am glad that we don't have to wait that long here. Evan wants to get a job and I don't want to be shuttling him around.

I gave up on straightening my hair years ago...it just isn't worth the pain and time.

I wish Evan a lot of luck on getting a job. Tay hasn't been able to land one...apparently it is the highest level of unemployment for teens ever? Not as many jobs and they are going to older workers.

Jeans are an interesting thing. For me I do not want them over the BB, VERY uncomfortable it you ask me but I really wish they could just make them higher in the back so there are no whale tail sightings.

I keep trying to find a pair I like that is somewhere in the middle but....no dice.

Instead I own a LOT of long shirts. And tug before sitting. It's become a habit, even when I don't need to!

But I'm comfy.

:rotfl:

Your taillights post made me all misty. I'm so glad I have 7 more years before my oldest can drive. I've been having similar "where did all the time go" moments lately - whenever I see a mom with a toddler or preschooler. Lucy just started kindergarten this year, and it has been HUGE adjustment! Its so weird to have passed through the baby-toddler-preschooler phase and have it completely behind me. Kinda makes me want another... must.resist.do.not.need.another.baby....

that's because she's in the hole in the basement waiting for the basket of lotion to be lowered....

Ooh, I just got a shiver up my spine! :scared1:

. And I'm sure millions of others have been charitable and concerned for the people of Haiti, without someone with an over blown ego telling them to.

ok, I'm now stepping off the soapbox.

I could not agree more! Its all just PR - for the celebs, more so than the cause

:rotfl: I have never heard that one before!

It's 2 years straight, with only 2 phone calls a year, mother's day and christmas. But if he's somewhere with internet access he can email once a week.
We don't have any say in where he goes, so it could be California or Russia, we won't know untill a few months before he goes.
I'm hoping he goes somewhere totaly different from the us, so he can appreciate what he has here.

My little brother went to Chile on his mission which was funny because he's 6ft 3 blonde hair and blue eyed.....among all the rather short Chileans. I think he stuck out just a little.

...

Oh wow!!! That is really something. I can't imagine mine being gone for 2 years. Hugs to you mama!!!!!

I have a question....is it just me or is it a little ironic that all the "famous" people and holding a telethon for Haiti? I thought the same thing after Katrina.
The majority of Americans are as charitable as you can get.

I'm not saying we shouldn't contribute what we can, but it really bugs me when the "celebrities" do something like a telethon...sheesh, don't they get enough attention?

I'd like to know how much they are donating of their own money along with the ticker that will count the money pledged.

I'm not complaining about being asked to contribute, it's more who and how it's done. In fact, without the influence of Oprah, ellen, & Beyonce...I managed to contribute, all on my own. And I'm sure millions of others have been charitable and concerned for the people of Haiti, without someone with an over blown ego telling them to.

ok, I'm now stepping off the soapbox.

I think George Clooney who put the whole thing together donated $1million and also Leonardo DiCaprio donated $1million. Not sure about the rest of them. I totally get what you are saying and have wondered that myself.

On this past wendsday Evan got his drivers license. I waited nervously at home while D.Jay took him for the test. I think I prayed the entire time untill I got the call..Evan got out of the car with a huge grin on his face! He passed the driving with 92%!
I was so excited when D.Jay called to tell me the news...and then it sunk it. My baby, never mind that he's 16 and 6ft tall, has grown up.

I couldn't help thinking about the day he was born and the 2 weeks in the nicu. I was 19 and scared to death! As time went by he proved to be a healthy little boy who was so happy!
I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown when I sent him off to kindergarten, but like everyother mom, I survived. Then came middle school. Oy!! I just knew he wasn't ready for that! He played football in 7th and 8th grades...there were a few times he was down on the field. Every ounce of my being wanted to run onto the field yelling "my baby"! But I controled myself.

Last year came high school. I was scared and he couldn't wait. Then he turned 16 and started to date....boy was that hard. I think I cried for an hour after we sent him on his way to the homecoming dance.

Even though all of that was difficult, yesterday was the worst. He drove off on his own to take Bailie to dance and then to a basketball game. I didn't want him to see how nervous I was so i stayed inside and watched from the window as the tail lights disapered into the night.

As I watched the car leaving it hit me that he doesn't need me as much as before. Before I had the comfort of knowing that I was still needed, but now I realize that he is growing up and leaving me behind. Which is good! I want him to be a self sufficient man ....one day.

Just thinking about 2 1/2 years from now, he will be leaving on a mission....I think I'll be needing a tranquilizer!
I'm so proud of the man he is becoming and I know he will leave the nest eventually........but can't it be postponed awhile longer?

There seem to be so many "tail light" moments in our lives. I just hope I can remember the good things about the tail lights disappearing. To be honest, I can't wait to make him run errands for me.

Ok, I was trying to catch up on all that I've missed lately. But I have to stop here before I start up again. I am bawling my eyes out!! :sad1: SUPER BIG HUGS TO YOU :hug::hug: Yes, spend every minute with him that you can now. And thank you for reminding me to do so too. Time fly's so darn fast.

And the "POO" continues !!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:
we're nothing, if not consistent

He hasn't started to look yet...he wants to work at a scout camp durring the summer...but that messes with my vacation plans...He could also get a summer job working for a farmer...what he realy wants is to work at the movie theater....yes, I said "the" we only have 1.

Jeans are funny....I don't like the low rise but I also don't want the high rise "mom jeans";)
I like mine right at my belly button...I was looking at pictures from high school the other day and I had a pair of pans that went practically to my "girls"....which is pretty high considering things were still perky before gravity hit.

bailie has a pair of "skinny" jeans that are so tight and low....she was getting up off the floor at my parents and mooned have the family..

it is hard every time they pass a stage...there's always plusses to it..like no diapers.

Oh wow!!! That is really something. I can't imagine mine being gone for 2 years. Hugs to you mama!!!!!
thanks....It will be rough at first but I there's nothing else I'd want him to be doing at that age....You send off a 19 yr old boy and they come home a 21 yr old man and most of them learn things they can use through out their life..
My brother learned spanish, since he was in Chile, and he now has a bachelors in Spanish and south american studies...pretty cool.

I think George Clooney who put the whole thing together donated $1million and also Leonardo DiCaprio donated $1million. Not sure about the rest of them. I totally get what you are saying and have wondered that myself.
I guess if it gets people to contribute who otherwise wouldn't , then it's a good thing... I'm sure some of the celebs are sincere...

thanks you! One "plus" to look forward to is we will be able to "pick him up" at the end of his mission....With 3 boys, I should get to see some cool places....or they could end up staying in the states...maybe florida?

I need a little more help with nailing down my adrs...Over the last 2 days I think I've changed my mind 10 times and added several new adrs.

It all started when I read through all the menus....I'm craving real food! For the past 2 weeks, if it can't be microwaved we can't eat it....I'm so sick of that kind of food....i can feel my arteries clogging...

Here's what I have .......

2/4 Raglan Road *6:30

2/5 Chefs de Fance *6:20

2/6 Kona * 9:40
The Wave * not sure what time

2/7 Tuotto Italia *5:10

2/8 Kouzzina *7:50

2/9 Tony's Town Square *5:00

2/10 Libety Tree Tavern *8:05
Park Fare* 10:50
Teppan Edo *7:45
Jiko *8:30

Obviously, I need to decide on only 2 for the 10th. Teppan Edo is one of D.Jay's favorites, so if I take it off then I need to add it somewhere else.
