After the stair fiasco and the crazy amount of work it sounds like you have until the trip, you and d.jay really deserve to get away!

If moving were an option, I'd do that over remodel any day.

My dream has always been to buy an old victorian house and re-store it...I'm thinking that might not be such a great idea. With all the problems we've found in a 50 yr old house, I can only imagine what once over 100 yrs old would be like.

I've been thinking......according to D.Jay that always means it's going to cost him...anyhoo, I've been thinking about switching resorts...


Here's my thinking....If I switched back to the original plan CBR it would cost about $800...b ut with the card offer I'd get one for $500, so actually I'd only be paying $300 more.

What I really, really, want to do is upgade to AkL...Than would be $1300 more but I'd get a card for $750, which means I'd be paying $550...right?

Also, I'm thinking of adding the ddp. Originaly I didn't get it thinking we'd try it without, but after looking at where we want to eat, we'd be saving if we get it.

I'm not good at making decisions. If it's a really important thing I can make them fairly easily but these type where it doesn't impact my life, I can't make up my mind.

I'm sure it drives d.jay crazy.

I've also been thinking about our itenerary, I feel a little lost becauseit's never been as "loose" as this.

On our first trip, I had read everything I could get my hands on. I had the ultimate plan with almost every minute planned out. Because it was going to be our only trip there and I wanted to make sure we saw everything.

Trip 2 was with the kids so again I had to get everything in for our families one time disney world trip....

trip 3 was a makeup trip since we missed alot due to my dental emergency, so it was scheduled to make sure we got everything

trip 4 was with MIL so again, I had to make sure we saw everything

This time I decided that I wasn't going to have as much scheduled so we can relax a little more. But it's just killing me to not have it all planned. I feel a constant need to tweek things here and there.

I'm worried that I'll panic when we aren't at every rope drop.

And worry number 3 is I'm not quite satisfied with our ADR's...I don't know why, but it just isn't right.

Tutto Italia is the only one we've tried before. If I do the ddp I need 2 more.

I'd like to fit in Kona and I wanted to try Sanaa, but d.jay isnt' an adventerous eater and I don't want him to not enjoy it.
My other thought is Boma...we went on our first trip and thought it was ok, but nothing special. but, I'm thinking of trying it again.

I'm so glad that I have all of you to help me think! Because no one here wants to listen to me ramble on about all of this. D.Jay listens but his eyes glaze over after about 30 seconds and his answer is always, do what ever you want.

I have to admit, I would totally switch resorts but I'm terrible that way!

See my fuzzy disney math would somehow figure it out so that switching to AKL would only cost the $550 but certainly some of that would then be saved by the DDP savings.

Not quite sure how you'd make that one work since in your scenario you'd have to add more sit down meals than you have planned but....that's my angle. Not to mention the couple only romantic aspect of the Savannah....



The other thing I'd be mildly worried about and might be a switching factor is President's day crowds. Most of your trip is prior to it, (I think?) so maybe it's a non issue, but POP will be really full during President's week.

As to food I'd definitely add Kona but probably skip Sanaa based on d.jay's lack of adventure. I have no idea where you've eaten before. Boma is good but if you weren't wild about it the first time, I doubt you'd be this time. That said it's supposed to have a killer breakfast so if you stay at AKL you could consider that....

what about Captain's Grille or Ohana?

i probably won't switch...I'd love to but I really should save the money for things like my remodel. Sometimes being a responsible grown up stinks.

I would switch to AKL. With the gift card, it makes sense. Plus you can use the card to pay for meals. I've switched resorts 3 times and room categories twice and about to made a 3rd room category switch, so I may not be the best person to give out advice

I think my logicall side is winning because for the price of the upgrade I can get the new dinning table I need...ours is about to fall apart and I can't have a pretty new kitchen with an ugly table.

A new table does make much more sense. But when it comes to Disney, all of my logic goes out the window. I'm addicted to the Disney drug. It's amazing how Disney has convinced me I need a room at a certain resort, facing a certain direction even though I'm never in the room They must put something in funnel cake.
