When will you get your Thanksgiving Turkey?

Five more weeks until turkey day! Do get one free from your grocery store, spend so much money and get a free turkey? Does your employer give one out? When I worked I used to end up with 7 20-25lb turkey's! I would keep one and then donate the other 6 to familie's in need.

Now I get one at my grocery store, spend so $$$$ get one free! I am looking forward to Thanksgiving Day and eating!

The one time I bought it--I bought it about a week ahead of time from the natural food market. No freezing required--fresh bird that stayed fresh until his goose was cooked .

I've never cooked thanksgiving dinner so I never get a turkey. Every year DD and I go to my parents for every holiday dinner. Maybe one of these days I'll have my own dinner and invite them but probably not this year.

I haven't bought one in a long time. I love my turkey. It comes out so flavorful and moist. However, my mom and MIL like to do Thanksgiving and they make the most dry, flavorless bird.

I buy mine fresh 4 days before the holiday. I would never get the free one as they are never the good ones. I pay for the good juicy ones!

Probably about a week before Thanksgiving.

Last Thanksgiving, I "bought" mine at Chef Mickeys. WAAAAHHHH! A great memory!

I can't believe the Albertson's stores around here have been advertising the "Buy one - get one free" turkey for a couple of weeks already! Does anyone really have room in their freezer for TWO turkeys?!

I'll get the largest frozen one about 5 days before Thanksgiving. I'll need around a 25 - lb-er, since I'll probably have at least 20 people here.

Well, I don't really buy a turkey....they just show up for the holidays....family....a real bunch of turkeys....

Every year, like clockwork, 14 family and friends showed up at my door looking for the bird. I would buy it frozen about a week ahead of time, and get the biggest Butterball they had.

They are all out of luck this year though because for the first time in my Thanksgiving history, I am not cleaning and making the turkey! Woo Hoo! I will be relaxing at Boma's at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
