I am prepared to stay up all night if they do this in the middle of the night. SWA is our only hope to fly otherwise we need to adjust our vacation to plan to drive.

So when do they usually open up the dates? Would it be near midnight? Or in the morning? Anyone have experience with this and know what has happened in the past?

Thanks! And good luck to everyone else who is trying to flights tomorrow with SWA!!! :goodvibes

NOT SOON ENOUGH!!!! :lmao:

In the past it has been 10am-12pm EST. I've never seen them open them up overnight... it's always been mid to late morning.

The past few times it has been 10:00 a.m. CT (11:00 a.m. ET), but for a while before that it was earlier in the day. My advice is to start checking as soon as you are up and keep checking from time to time until 10:00 a.m. CT and then frequently once that time comes.

Can anyone tell me where that date is on the SWA site? It used to be easy to find but I can't seem to find it.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like I can go to sleep and just get up in the morning and start checking. I sure hope we get to fly! But tomorrow we will know for sure.:)

I am gonna be haunting the site at 9:15 onward, hoping I'll be able to grab some fares before I have to take my son to the dentist at 10:30 EST.

This year, we are driving from the Boston area to the DC area the night before February break, then hopefully grabbing a flight out of BWI. (crosses fingers) We're coming back and touring DC later in the week, but we're gonna start by heading to Vero Beach after a night at WDW (a lot of moving, I know).

If you don't get the right price tomorrow, keep checking back. Our tickets went down a good bit over time - for a while, I was checking daily because the price kept inching down. You can get the lower rate after you book, but if you are getting the lowest fare, they won't refund - they give you credit for a future flight.

I would guess that happens more with summer travel and stuff like that. We are going for spring break and I have never seen airfare go down, only up.....BUT....it could happen.

Also if you have a facebook.. and "like" southwest.com they will tell you when they release the fares.....like almost immediately after they post them. :-) pixiedust: to everyone tomorrow :-)

Thanks. You really have to be quick to get RR for Feb break I tried it a couple of years ago with no luck. Do you have google "auto fill" set upon your computer?

I know this is DISboards, but I'm actually traveling from Orlando to Las Vegas - and not over President's week. I work at Disney World and am a frequent Southwest flyer, so I keep an eye on this board.

I took tomorrow off from work just so I could (hopefully) snag my tickets. But I took a voluntary bump on Southwest last night, so I have lots of LUV funds to use now, too, if RR seats aren't available.

Maybe, but I am traveling over Christmas and New Years, which I would imagine are pretty busy times. I was also comparing surrounding days - the prices have been bouncing all over the place, sometimes with significant differences - higher and lower - from one day to the next. I am sure that the prices bounce around depending on % full by certain milestone dates.

Surprisingly, Christmas/New Years often has reasonable airfare to Orlando, especially compared to things like President's Week. I suspect part of the reason is that over Christmas, there is heavy leisure demand, but it is really only leisure travel; the business travelers are at home. During things like Spring Break, there is increased leisure demand while business travel is still humming along, just like always.

Well the dates are out and we booked! The price for going to Florida wasn't as good as I would like, but the price returning was good, and both are nonstop, so I went for it because it was better than Airtran and we don't have to pay to pick a seat or for luggage.

This is the first time I got their early check in thing for $10. Just trying to reduce some stress with the trip. I guess we will see if we think it is worth it.

But at least that is one part of the trip taken care of!
