When will SW fares open up for the rest of August?

I guess I remembered correctly, its March 23.

With the new website, the future date is a little harder to find. In the upper right hand corner, there's a drop down box that says 'Travel Tools'. Click that and pick the last option: 'View all Travel Tools'. Read the paragraphs under 'Feel Free to Wing It' and you'll have the answer...

An easier way is to go to the bottom of the home page, under Customer Service, click on Travel Tools. It comes right up on top of the new page.

Ok I'm crazy today is Feb 23, for some reason I thought today was the day. I have seen that March 23 on the web site many many times before but was just convinced this was the day. Ok, I'm off to the looney bin.

Southwest never releases it schedules like the other airlines. The one good thing about that is that once they are released they do not change the flight times.
The usually release their schedules about everyother month, generally around the middle of the month. Each release encompasses about 12 to 13 weeks of travel. Sometimes the releases are done sooner and may be for a longer period, but this is an average.

Yep, and how many of those airlines change or cancel flights within weeks or days of your flight and then you are scrambling to reserve seats or make other arrangements because the new flight time doesn't fit with your schedule.

I like knowing that when I book on SWA, barring mechanical or weather issues, my flight will be at that time on that day.

I'm so glad to see this thread. I want to book my travel for Sept. and kept looking to see when it was going to be up. I guess if it's not up until March 23, I can quit looking every day to see if it's there. I assumed that they would be putting it up a month at a time so that they would always have travel out like 6 months in advance or something. I didn't know they just lumped a bunch together and dumped it out all at once. Weird.
