My daughter and I are there May 24th and I am guessing (hoping!) Pandora may be doing soft openings by then.

By nature, when talking about a soft opening, no one can answer this.
The purpose of those is to test things when they are ready. I'm fairly sure no one can tell you exactly when a test would be ready as it's just that, a test.

We are going on May 27 and staying onsite when will fasts passes be opened up and what rides will we needed passes for ??

Nobody knows. Only thing that can be certain is lines will be long.

-AK will likely go to tiers so you can't FP both new rides
-Fast passes for them likely won't be up and ready at your 60 day mark

So, do you mean FP won't be ready until 60 days from the announced opening date or ??? Asking as we already had a trip planned for May 24-30. My plan was to try for the last date we are there first and then work backward in hopes of snagging one. We can book 60 days out.

FPs won't be ready until they are ready. I'd be shocked if they were ready 60 days out. That gives them no wiggle room for last minute operational issues.

Anyone know when the FEA Fastpasses came out? Maybe we could guesstimate off of that. We will be there May 29-31 and hoping maybe to ride.

They have been testing the rides for weeks if not months now. They have an opening date announced and press invites sent. They don't have any wiggle room anymore.

They could be up and ready to book..but I highly doubt it. For new openings, it seems like fps aren't put out until a few weeks prior. If I recall correctly fps for 7dmt didn't go live until around 30 days out or less.

They could be ready for your 60 days out, but just don't be shocked if they aren't. New openings are treated somewhat how refurbs are..the fps seem to not go out until much closer to the opening date

So you think they'll have FP ready to go 60 days out?

I don't know that they'll necessarily release them at 60 days out but if they wanted to they could. As far as I've heard they are basically just waiting on the land itself, the rides are pretty much done.

Frozen ever after fast passes went live exactly 30 days out. Fast passes May 21, ride opened June 21st

I would guess they'll do the same for Pandora as to give offsite guests a chance to get a FP as well instead of them all being gone by onsite guests more than 30 days in advance

I am guessing 30 days as well. By that point they are more likely to be sure everything is operational. I am hoping (but not planning on) passholder preview days. We got in on those for New Fantasyland and it was awesome!

March 28th is your 60 Day window. If they aren't available then, they probably will not be for the first couple of weeks. I do agree that AK will join HS and Epcot in using the tier format.

Sorry for the stupid question, but we've never had a trip planned during a time when a passholder preview day might have been a remote option. I don't remember hearing about other preview days, but we aren't passholders every year. (We have APs linked to my MDE, but haven't registered for any passholder notifications of which I am aware. I think we sometimes get emails about a hotel discount, but I'm not sure it's passholder specific...)
So how would I find out about a passholder preview day?

They didn't have them for FEA, but they did have them for NFL at MK. Would be nice if they'd do them for Pandora but I'm not counting on it.
As far as I know they always email Passholders about things. We get them (but only on 1 of our 2 email accounts)

There is a week long press event just before opening. if there is going to be a soft, it'll either be adding some people in with the press or some lucky few to try it out before press but I'm more willing to say it's going to be castmember previews prior to press to test it all out...

edit to add: and it's not really testing it out as much as getting the cast members ready for the masses. working out the logistic kinks in how they are suppose to act.

7DMT FP+ didn't open until less than 30 days. ROL, was what? the week of.

Soft openings and FP+ opening dates are not set in stone.

It happens when it happens.
