When will July hours be updated?

The more I think about this, the more annoyed I become. I didn't want to go in the summer but agreed with my teens only BECAUSE of the longer hours because I am going to positively MELT in the summer heat/sun. PLUS, I ponied up for a monorail resort to be close to MK. 10pm - seriously? At least 11 Disney!! Are the hotels empty? Mine isn't. It shows no rooms available for my dates except for concierge.

I don't understand it either. This isn't my first July stay at Disney and I remember later closing times (of course this was back when EMH went until 2 am). I agree, the longer hours would definitely help with the heat which causes people to tour a little slower. It's blazing between 12 and 4 pm.
Yes the 12 am EMHs are nice Disney but why not push the regular hours back to that time as well?

And you're right, the hotels are booking up quickly (I learned this the hard way when I tried to move back to my first resort) so it isn't like these guests are going to stay in their rooms and never head to the parks.

The whole time we'll be in there (2nd and 3rd week of July) looks like Animal Kingdom has EMH from 10-midnight.

I called Guest Services twice just to make sure and I was told those hours were only for Pandora (basically two rides). I wish it was for the entire park, or at least Expedition Everest and Dinosaur.

Well, there is ROL at 10:30 so that is one more thing, as well. ROL are at 9:15 and 10:30. At least in August, I should say, during my trip 8/5-12, and the dates I checked in July.
Are the extra AK EMH hours they currently have also only for Pandora?

As far as I know, yes, they are only for Pandora. I would personally like to see MK close a little later.

Still holding out hope for at least 11 PM closes at MK for July/Aug. We go in summer because parks open late and we can swim/cool off at hotel during hottest part of day. 10 pm close at MK just seems too early.

Sorry....I didn't mean 1 or 2 am......I meant 1 or 2 night time EMH. Do they offer those in August usually?

Yes, there is a mix of night and morning EMH during late August, typically one night each for MK, Epcot and now AK, plus one morning for each of the four parks. Your mileage may vary.

Disney's peak summer season ends mid-August, that's why the nightly EMH end Aug 19. The following week, park hours roll back some (as do crowds), and one week after that, hours and crowds are close to the post-Labor Day "non-peak" hours (all parks typically closed by 8/9, except EMH). We usually go the week before Labor Day and have it relatively easy (minus a hurricane), this year our school district started early.

The only thing I find really odd is that it's still showing the Electrical Water Pageant at 10:35pm, even for a 10:00pm park closing. Are they planning on just showing it for those leaving MK at the last minute?

I mean, I get it's to balance the parks but people are at Disney World for a VACATION! Now that I think about it it infuriates me more because we are night owlers so we don't mind coming back to our resort at 2 a.m. ...

I know I'm going against the grain, but as I've said before, I don't really have any solid reason to truly "complain". Sure, it stinks...and it really is bad timing for us. We've done at least 6 or 7 prior trips in July and never even looked or cared what time they closed because our kids were really too young to stay out really late (we're not late night owls ourselves). So we never stayed past 10pm anyway. Now, they're 13, 9, 9 and would be capable of an 11pm closing...and of course this year they're going to close at 10pm. But I really can't complain about it. The park is still open 13 hours (it's 9am opening, right?) during the day, hard to complain about that.

With the 10pm close, we'll have the opportunity to close the park several times, and that's great. So while we're disappointed, really it's not that big of a deal. I have no idea why they're doing it, but my guess is still that the staffing they would have devoted to keeping MK open late is now being used to keep AK open late. Keeping both MK and AK open to 11pm or later every night would have been a much bigger expense and strain on their resources.
Our problem with the earlier closing is we like to go at night because the summer temps are so hot and miserable!
It would be nice if AK includes other rides beside the Pandora rides during the night EMH if not it wont be worth it to go but maybe once to see Pandora land.

I dont think closing MK early will balance the crowds because AK will be swamped with no other parks open late.

I could have swore I read that other parts were going to be open too. Like Dinoland, EE, and Tree awakenings. But I can't find it now.

I think they were only open for the first weekend.

I did find it on another site, but it's not a Disney site do I don't want to post the link. I wonder if anyone who has been in the past few weeks could answer?

I just sent an email asking if there will be any chance more rides will open for night extra magic hours at Animal Kingdom. They may not know anything but it is worth a shot to see if they do.

For the current EMH nightly hours, the website explicitly says that it's only Pandora. For the hours after July 4, it doesn't have any such note, so that's making me think it's the entire park. But I don't know for sure.

It would be a great surprise, but I can't imagine Disney running all the attractions at AK during EMH when they occur every night. Maybe when EMH falls to one or two nights a week, but I doubt it will be anytime before the 8/20/17 date.

The EWP can be seen from the resorts on Bay Lake as it goes by those resorts all the way to Fort Wilderness.

There was a Disney Parks blog stating more than just Pandora was open for the first round of AK EMH (through the beginning of July) but I didn't stay that late to check when we were there on June 7th.

ETA: I went searching for it and couldn't find it but I remember specifically asking about it in a few places and, I thought, being directed to a DPB article. But I suppose I could be mistaken.
