when will i be able to book an '08 package?

I am confused - I know I can book room-only right now...but when can I get a package?

Also - can I book a package and get the AAA discount?

I started a thread on this just a day or so ago. There was a news article on the www.allearsnet.com website stating that, effective June 23rd, there would be changes to the Disney room rates. That got all of us Disboard members excited thinking the 2008 rates would be out on that day.

On June 13, 2007 (prior to the article), I called 407-W-DISNEY to find out when the 2008 package rates would be out. The CM told me mid-August.

I read the article a day or so later and called Disney again. They said mid-August again. When I asked what was the earliest they had ever seen the rates come out, they said July. I asked about the June 23rd rumor. She had heard nothing about it.

I called a day later and asked again. Was told that there was a possibility the 2008 rates would be out in July. She said to call back the first week of July. I also asked about June 23rd. She knew nothing, put me on hold and said nobody else had heard that either.

I called Disney, again, yesterday. I asked if the 2008 rates were out and was told yes but his computer was being updated and he couldn't get the rates for me. He asked if he could get my number and call me back or would I rather call back in just a bit to get the rates. I was driving and on my way to the drug store so I said I would call back. I asked if I could go online and book and he said the website wouldn't be updated with the 2008 rates yet.

I ran my errands (all the time thinking about calling Disney back) and, as soon as I hopped in my car, I turned on the air conditioning (it's 94 degrees with 80 something percent humidity) and called Disney. This time, I was told that the rates weren't out yet. I told her what the previous CM had told me and she said that he must have been mistaken. CRAP! She gave me the whole July spill again.

So, I am calling back every day until I am able to book!

Will keep everybody updated and hope others will do the same.

WE have called many times... and have been told late June early July and everywhere in between there... we call about 1 time per week and I may have to try again today.... just too see... I am sure the CMs are getting irritated with us cray 08 goers that want to book or trips calling and asking if the rates for 08 are out or not... LOL... If anyone gets a date please post it... or if a trip is booked... we are READY!!! with $200 in hand... LOL
