When will DL reservations open for July and...

Yes, I have the same button, which will lead you to the calendar which ends on June 28th; at least, that's what happened to me.
OK, I misunderstood you I think. You can get there, but there is no dates on the calendar! Will be interesting to see what I can see on Tuesday.

The Blueprint was indeed quietly updated to state fully vaccinated people (or tested for younger? “Tested” is written as the heading above) from out-of-state can attend all activities and events. This should include theme parks. Check page 8 of the Blueprint document

And what those of us in the state keep saying is that theme parks have NEVER been included in that. They have always been their own tier system.

As others have noted, amusement parks are not considered the same. Type in Orange (county) and Amusement Parks (activity) on the website https://covid19.ca.gov/safer-economy/ and it clearly states what is allowed, which is in-state visitors only. This is in comparison to zoos or museums, which do show modifications of increased capacity allowed based on proof of vaccinations, as well as no in-state restriction.

I understand that. There is an addendum to the Blueprint that states out of state vaccinated adults and tested kids can attend events or activities with an in-state restriction. You said yourself that you entered amusement park as an activity and it has an in-state restriction. Therefore, it is an activity with an in-state restriction, so this new rule applies.

We can argue this up and down. Everyone wants to read it to their interest. However, Disney is going to follow the state rules, and I would not suggest showing up and trying to use this at this time. I'm picturing someone coming on a 5 day ticket, and having to have tests done over and over as the test has to be done with in 72 hours. They would have to have at least 2 tests for the 72 hour period.

Unless they are vaccinated of course.

I would not suggest that either. I am hoping, once the parks have adequately considered this recent change, they will update their policies. I intend to follow their posted policies and would never drop thousands on a vacation where I might get caught. I point this change out so others are aware changes may come soon.

And if someone wishes to test on day 1 and 4, that is a choice they can make. I suspect some would be willing (especially if mom and dad are vaccinated but not the kids—young kids won’t be vaccinated for many months, so testing is the only option if assurances are needed by the state).

Unless they are vaccinated of course.
Children under 16 cannot be vaccinated. The places that are requiring this currently (sports arenas, theaters) are accepting vaccination cards (vaccine must be 14 days out from 2nd vaccine) or negative tests within 72 hours of arrival at the gate/door.

I am still waiting to hear from my CDPH rep, but looking thru things, it appears to accept vaccines/negative tests, they would have to require it for all.

Not everyone has has children under 16 in their party.

The wording suggests it is just for those out of state: “Fully vaccinated persons from out of state may visit or attend activities or events that are restricted to in-state visitors. Fully vaccinated persons should consult the current CDPH Travel Advisory and adhere to any applicable recommendations.”

What we were told regarding this is if a company opts to include people outside the state and to increase capacity, everyone (in and out of state) had to be tested. But we are not a theme park.

While it would be ridiculous to require a theme park to suddenly require vaccination or test results from Californians who can already attend if the only other change was allowing those out-of-state to come, CA does love creating needlessly-complicated and difficult-to-understand policies. We shall see.

New York can be a competitor in that field. 🤪

I wonder if there's a legal basis to require vaccinations for one group (out-of-state) vs others (in-state). I do not want to get into politics - this seems like more of a legal issue - but the guidance seems very strange?

It would be more reasonable to require it of anyone flying into the state.

I’m not a lawyer, but I would guess public health would win any argument. And the alternative is that he just keeps in state for longer.

Logically it makes sense, even if a lot of work. CA worked hard to get our numbers where they are. Could there still be community transmission within the state at DL - of course. But much less risk than somebody flying in from a state with rising numbers. At least knowing they’re vaccinated lowers that risk.

I don't have a problem generally with requiring proof of vaccination, personally. However, imposing a medical requirement only on one class of people (non-Californians) I would think would create a huge issue. Again, I personally do not have a problem with a vaccine imposition, but can see the headaches and hurdles that would cause. I also greatly sympathize with the fact that the front line enforcement of these rules are ultimately left with a 19-year-old Cast Member (or someone similar).
