When Will Boats Be Back in Action?

Any guesses or inside scoop on when boat service will be back in full at Walt Disney World? An open air transportation option seems ideal right now, but I do understand that a boat can only take so many people and lines can get lengthy sometimes.

This question has come of a few times, really no idea. They opened up the boats inside of Epcot but made no further announcements or any timeline.

For clarity, some boats are running:

WL-MK Resort Launch
FW-MK Resort Launch
GF-MK Resort Launch (just started with GF reopening last week)
TTC-MK Ferryboat
Friendship Boat service inside Epcot/World Showcase Lagoon (but not the Friendship Boats that serve the Epcot resorts)

The other resort boat options normally available are not at the moment.

Without boat service, there *IS* a walking path from OKW to Disney Springs, correct?

My dad and I have a multi-split stay coming up and we have 2 nights in the middle in a value studio at AKV. With the food options so limited, and the fact that we have to switch resorts anyways (moving from BWV), we are seriously considering switching to OKW for the 2 nights. If the walk is really long, and the boats aren't running, I am not sure how much of an "advantage" OKW will be...thoughts?

I'm not sure why they haven't reopened.. I cant think of a better way to socially distant yourself

There is the Conch Flat Trail, its a pretty long walk from what I learned. You can't cut through the golf course, and unless things have changed the path closes at dusk.

I'm specifically thinking about OKW, too! I've been reading about the walking option and it sounds like the walk is about 1.5 miles and does close at dusk. At least we may feel less guilty about whatever delicious food we eat!

They are the using the bigger boats which are ECV friendly but reducing the number of people allowed onboard as fyi to allow for social distancing. The smaller boats are currently not running from the Bay Lake resorts (and they are not ECV friendly).

What about Poly? If I want to get from WL to Poly/GF do I have to go back to MK to switch boats?
