I am watching flight costs from MKE to MCO for 3-13-07 to 3-21-07. Flights are very high right now through our normal airlines, Northwest. I am looking for cheaper flights. I cannot pull pricing for these dates for AirTran. I am no expert on flights/airlines. Can anyone tell me if this is correct? Does Airtrans wait longer to post priicng? Please help. Thanks!!!!

When i've been looking over the past couple of years, it's been anywhere from 6 to 8 months prior

Be careful though, i've noticed that the day or so the schedule is 1st released, some of the fare slots are ridiculously high - then they drop to the 'ballpark' area they usually price out.:confused3

I do not know how early the airlines will make the flights available. However, booking your flight 7 months ahead of time is not going to be the way to get the cheapest fare. The best sale fares come out much closer to time -- IF sale fares do come out. It will depend on whether they NEED to offer sale fares. After all, you're looking at the Spring Break timeframe.

If you are a newbie to flying, and if you are anxious about getting a flight, then you might have to make a choice between (a) guaranteeing yourself tickets on the flight of your choice, and (b) strategizing to get a low airfare.

My husband and I typically purchase airfare two to three months ahead of time.

You are right about that. I lucked into $160 RT fares(including all taxes) from
Buffalo to MCO about 6 weeks before our trip in February. The only problem is that if I didn't stumble across this, I have no idea how much I would have paid.
