Or do both parks open 1 hour early but it's just the Harry Potter sections at each park that opens early? I've looked on Universal's website and can't find it.

TIA

From what I've read, it isn't posted. Guests need to check at the hotels. I did see that starting today (or yesterday?) the early park switched back to IOA for the time being.

It is only the Harry Potter sections and occasionally one other ride that is open ..When EE is at the Studios is it usually Diagon Alley and Despicable me .At IOA when we were there it was just Hogsmeade ( there are 3 rides in hogsmeade and only 1 in Diagon ally since the train doesn't run till park opening). As to which park has EE, that is something you need to check at the resorts. In peak crowds, generally both parks are open.Lately it has been the studios and just recently it has only been IOA.

It really depends. Sometimes its just IOA's Hogsmeade, sometimes it is both Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade that are open. It depends on when you visit

We are staying at RPR and according to the hotel, for the time that we are going which is next month, USF will have early entry at 8am.
According to the hotel, they rotate between IOA and USF. You may want to call and ask them, as they were able to check a schedule.

When we went in feb, IOA opened at 8, and we went straight back to Hogsmeade. At 8:30, the Hogwarts Express started running and we went over to Diagon Alley. We walked around and rode escape from gringotts when the wait was less than 10 mins. It was awesome!!!
