When was the last time you had Surgery?

It's been 15 yrs for me, and I'm scheduled to go in for surgery this coming Thurday.

4 weeks ago tomorrow. 2 more weeks until I am back to normal activity!! YAY!!

It was my first ever surgery so I was pretty freaked out, they stuck ativan in my IV and after that, I was like let's do this thing!! and then I passed out right after sitting on the operating table so they had no problem putting me under. When I went back for my post op appointment the interns were laughing at me for how well I go under.

Mine was removing my appendix, and now I feel like a whole world is opened up to me-there were two other minor things that I could have done but never did because I was scared about getting put under and since this was get put under or die from my appendix bursting, I had no choice, and the worst outcome with both situations was the same.

When I get my yearly checkup I am going to talk to my doctor about the situation with my knee and my ear and possibly get those both fixed.

After 33 hours of labor I had a c-section about 8 and a 1/2 months ago.

I don't mind surgery. The first time I was really freaked out. THis time I was calm and relaxed. I enjoy the opportunity to sleep and be waited on-the day of surgery, but not the rest of the recovery!

I had my gallbladder out about 11-12? yrs ago. I really should look up the date.

It will be 16 years on May 9...the day my oldest son was born! I had a c-section.

Major surgery was brain surgery last May, and a spinal surgery the same month.

I had minor surgery related to this in August, and praying NO MORE for a while.

unfortunately, I am not doing so well after this last surgery and fear I may be headed back to the OR for yet a third time. I pray that is not the case. I guess I will know more after my next MRI on Tues.

OP, for you... I hope it goes well. While I was still quite scared a few weeks ago, I was absolutely terrified before the first one back in Oct. Take care and let us know how it goes.

Actually last January 2010 I had Gall Bladder surgery. In less than 2 months, in March 2010, I had Thyroid surgery. I was really freaked out.

My last one was a year ago this month ~ I had a double resection (Crohns related). Would like to never repeat that again!
