when u see a disser at disney

I will say that there have been times when they have reacted exactly as cguill said....they looked away as if they didn't want to be bothered. So....my question...if you don't want to run into other DISers, why the LGMH hanging off your backpack?? There is nothing worse than being embarrassed by being ignored or spoken to harshly. And yes, I did have one person say this to me...I saw her many LGMHs, in line at Soarin', I went up to her, and said hi, I was on the DIS also. Her response??? "Yeah? That's nice." and she turned away and ignored me.
But, I still persist in saying hi to other LGMH wearers!!! I love running into other DISers.

Agreed! The whole purpose of the LGMH is to let people know you would like to communicate with other Disers. If you don't want to be bothered...then leave the LGMHs at home! I had one lady say, "Oh..that's not me, that's him." She pointed to her husband with a sneer. Needless to say I didn't say anything to "him" in case he was as friendly as she was! :lmao:

In August I met a lovely family of Disers from Manchester, England. We had a quick chat since we were in line for Nemo the Musical and they were walking by, but it was so nice to meet them! I love meeting other Disers when we are there...I always stick a LGMH on my backpack and my lanyard.

I like the beer idea! We've run into a few and the last time we DID share a beer. I like that! :drinking1

I ordered this shirt from http://www.zazzle.com for my next trip.

I'm going to be all decked out in lgmh. If I say Hi I'm not really crazy I'ts the sugar:rotfl2: If you try to give me a red shiney apple I might not except it though:lmao:

We used our LGMH for the first time this past week. We saw alot of other ones but usually on strollers of people who had left them for a ride or from afar so we didn't get to talk to anyone.

But we did talk to a nice guy who was at the opening of the Studios on Sunday who I think was there solo. He asked about the LGMH because he had heard about them but had never seen them.

Even without LGMH I have met a number of dis'ers throughout the years.

When standing in line on September 9 waiting for DHS to open I found out I was behing two different DISsers! One was lazydog66, but I didn't get the other one's name. I was surprised to find people my first day! And I was mad because I forgot to bring my LGMH for my bag!

So I am a new DISer, just joined this summer, I know that we wear the LGMH so we can see other fellow DISers. I really would like to do this, but how do you get one?? How do you make it?? I leave on sat. and I would like one...also I love those t-shirts...can you just order that off the internet??

Thanks!!!

you could always give them the adopted Disser sign-the Focker sign (from the movie Meet the Fockers)

We were there last week & fellow Disser "CODE" caught me with the Focker sign--it was pretty funny :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I also met MSDISNEY23 (KITTY)

Let me know what it's like to come in 2nd Deb!!!!!!!!!

Two other options I do that weren't listed on this thread...

If you get the LGMH from H/D, you can just slip them as they are into the net sections of your backpacks, fanny packs, etc. where they are visible from the outside....I have a bunch of them, and I stick them anywhere I think they can be seen (but I've never been approached either...).

Also, a lot of the rides' shops now sell, close to the register usually, little tiny styrofoam Mickey heads. I think they are $3-$5. I can't remember now, but last year when I saw them, I grabbed a LGMH immediately.

It's on a keychain type chain, so you can attach it to anything you want, and it says Walt Disney World in white on one side.

I put it on my fanny pack too.

One other thing I added this year is a pin (like the pins you trade) that looks like a CM's name tag and says DISBOARDS on it.

It really is fun meeting others from this thread...

The last two years, we have opened MK and went right over to Big Thunder Railroad to find the paintbrushes.

Both times, we were beat to the rope by ONE FAMILY (a different one each year), and each year, it's a DANG DISBOARD FAMILY!!!

We all had the same idea!!!! It has been hilarious!

I don't know if that will happen again this year, BUT I AM racing Evad at the rope drop at DHS to the Toy Story Mania fastpass machine!

The race is on Dave!

Did you mean my "Do you do the DIS" shirt? I made that at http://www.zazzle.com

They have lots Disney designs to choose from...there is one icon head but looked like it was made of balls and I liked the side silhouette better so I used that. Then you add the text you want, pick your color of shirt and size and order. I have other shirts from them and the quality is good. The only thing I didn't like was I wanted my design on the back and I couldn't figure it out so I wrote them. They said Disney has not licensed their designs to be used on the back so I had to put it on the front. I figured more would see it if it was on the back, but oh well, at least I got my green shirt! :) The font I used was Black Cherry Moon by the way, they have quite a lot of fonts to choose from!

I also have one on the way I ordered for the next trip that is a Tinkerbelle design and under her it says "I'm the Queen of Everything". My husband tells me I am, so it must be true! ;)

Was it me?? I was there talking to lazydoxy on the morning of Sept 9th!! It was so fun to talk to another Dis'er!! I know my DH thought I was crazy....here's a picture of us on that day!!

I almost met a DISser last year. We were at POFQ and the window of a room between us and the elevator was decorated with LGMH. I taped a note to their door to say Hi. I also mentioned in my note that I didn't have any LGMHs.

The next day, when we returned to our room, there was a box waiting for us. It was from the DISser a few rooms down. Turns out that they checked out that morning and left all of their unused bottled waters and powerades and FOUR LGMHs! Wasn't that just so nice of her? We never did get the chance to meet face-to-face.

I put one LGMH in my window hoping to attract another DISser the same way she reeled me in, but alas, it didn't work. I wore another one the whole time on my fanny pack, but again, didn't attract any other DISsers. When I got home, I saw a post from someone who was heading to the World and wasn't able to get any LGMHs, so I mailed mine to her.

Now, if all the clues I'm putting together are correct, I will be returning to WDW very soon! My birthday is in October and I *think* my dh is planning to surprise me with a trip in November. Not sure how I will do with not getting to plan everything well in advance, but hey, I'm willing to give it a shot! Just have to get those LGMHs again!

I have seen and met fellow disners at disneyworld and disneyland. We found each other because of our lime green mickey heads. My adult kids think I am crazy. LOL
One of my sons job took him to VA for a small job repair. While at a resturant he noticed a lady with a mickey watch on and some other mickey things. He asked her if she were a disner and she said YES! He told her about my addiction and she told him about hers. How funny. Disners are everywhere.

That is a great story! I've given my leftovers to people in the room next to ours before but I like the idea of a fellow DIS'er getting them. I'll have to be on the look out at the hotel.

When we suspect we're in the vicinity of a fellow DISer, I'll just say to my wife in a slightly louder than normal voice, "I'm seeing a lot of lime green today, I wonder if there are any DISers here." That will often flush one out.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: This is great!!! :thumbsup2

Love to, next visit will be Feb. 26 - March 5, 8 park days at BoardWalk, but our favorite watering hole is the R&C.

Bill From PA

Don't be surprised if you can't find him at R&C. We had a meet set up a few years ago and didn't see anybody from Dis in there (Bill didn't have his picture on the boards then), but then again maybe he was under the bar. I didn't look there.:rotfl2:
