When trading pins?

I just purchased a lot of 10 Disney trading pins from ebay and was wondering if the CMs who trade pins usually have any good ones? I'm not looking for anything rare or anything, but am hoping to start a collection of Tinkerbell and Cinderellas castle pins. Do you think I'm going to have a hard time finding CMs with either of those type pins? Or should I have just saved my money and bought the one's I wanted from the stores there? How much do pins cost at WDW?

You just need to hit them all up, and try to find some as early as possible..

I think you'll do fine finding Tinkerbell pins, there was plenty of them available from the CM's this past April. The Cinderella castle pins may be a little harder to find, but I wasn't necessarily looking for them, so there may be some about.

I found that the pins to buy in the parks ranged from about $6.00 up to about $12-13 each, depending on the type of pin. There are some 'interactive' onces which will set you back a little more.

You've done the right thing picking some up from ebay though, great way to get started on the cheap. Plus, if you get to the parks, you can buy a starter pack, complete with lanyard and four pins, two to keep, two to trade, that way you're well on the way to getting pins that you want to keep.

Myself and DBF loved this in April, we're buying some on-line before we travel next time so we've got some to begin trading with.

Enjoy and have fun, the CM's are great with this and will always spare a few mins to show off their pins and trade :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE trading pins and we just bought a lot of 100 pins from ebay for some trading. Its just so much fun that my DH and I got my DS into it and now its the 3 of us.There is still one DS who we havent coverted but maybe some day.;) As far as what the CMs have, its really up to what you like. I like villians and I usually dont find tooo much but sometimes I do. Its really hit or miss. Have fun!!!!

Howdy! First off, if you want to ask questions about pin trading, I would like to let you know that the DIS has a board where questions like this will be greeted by lots of folks that collect and trade pins. It can be found http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=37

The DisneyShopping.com Semi-Annual Pin Sale officially kicks off tomorrow, but some of the deals got listed today in error, but they are honoring the prices. Some of the sets are pretty good deals, if you break them up.

FYI - Another great source of pin collecting and trading info can be found at http://www.dizpins.com/ and then there is also the official scoop found at http://eventservices.disney.go.com/pintrading/index and the internet trading site http://www.pinpics.com/

Happy Trading!

i was a cast member at epcot the past year and can tell you the following: whether CMs have good pins or not depends TOTALLY on you - meaning whether you are a fair trader and give good ones for good ones or if you give ebay fakes for good ones.

CMs get Hidden Mickey pins in the mornings from their managers so the earlier you come the higher the chances are you will find them. and yes, very often CMs do have good pins on their lanyards (there still are some fair traders out there ;) )

My nieces are Tinkerbelle and Ariel maniacs, they had no trouble finding them to trade....we went in Oct and the older one traded for a Xmas Tink
