Hi, we will be in Anaheim Sept 19-23 (Wed-Sun). We plan to visit Sea World for one whole day & of the course the rest at DL. I wanted to know what would be the best day to go to San Diego & do Sea World---also considering traffic & crowds? I heard that DL is busiest in the weekends & SW not so much. Is this true? I know that since we are not going during peak season, fireworks & parades are only going to happen during the weekend in DL so should we save the weekends for DL & drive down to San Diego on the Thursday?

Are either Sept 19 or 23 travel days, or can you use those days for park days?

If you can use Sept 19 and 23 for park days, I would do Sept 19-22 at DLR (four days) and Sept 23 at SW. You will have lesser traffic to and from SW on Sunday. That will give you two weekend nights at DLR (Fri and Sat) to see the evening shows.

Thats a good question I have been wondering the same thing for our trip in December we will be arriving around 10 in the morning on December 11th and leaving December 17th around 4. Which day would be good to go to Seaworld during that time?

HydroGuy, Sept 23rd (Sun) is actually a travel day so I can't do your suggestion. I either have Thurs, Fri or Sat for SW. Any other options? I guess I'm left with Thursday?

Well that leaves either Thu/Fri at DLR and Sat or SW, or Thu at SW and Fri/Sat at DLR. How long until you need to decide?

The official schedule for Sept should be up soon. Here is what happened in 2006 http://www.laughingplace.com/Guide-Cal-DLR2-200609.asp

Really the only shows that will be "weekend only" will be Fantasmic and Remember Dreams Come True. Is it important for you to see both?

If so, you will probably have to do Fri/Sat at DLR. If not, then I would do Thu/Fri at DLR and Sat at DW.

Either way, I would wait until the Sept schedule is posted before deciding if possible.

Now that the DL September schedule is out, we have a choice of going to SW either on a Thursday or Friday (Fantasmic! is shown Sat night & we have seen the Parade & the fireworks). I'm not sure if the traffic is any better on Thursday than Friday? Any ideas?

Does anyone know if traffic is any better on a Thursday vs a Friday to drive down to San Diego to visit Sea World? HydroGuy? anyone?

I will be there Sept 19-22 Late Wed (7pm nemo line before park closes) Thurs, Friday. Friday is the first day of Halloween stuff so plan on some crowds during the day and more in the evening.

As for the drive to San Diego, I have made the drive in the mid morning and it isn't bad.

I can't really answer the traffic question, so, I'd be checking out the park hours vs. crowds.

We don't do the parks on weekends, but that is because we can't stand the crowds. Friday will be much busier than Thursday at DL, however, I believe the park is also open 3 hours later. So, if your travel party is one that is able to stay late and wants to keep going, Friday may be the better day at DL.

I would expect traffic to be similar except for Friday evening which is often worse. Try to avoid peak times.
