When to visit DL last week of July or First week of August

Just wondering if there is anything that makes one week better then the other?? we are staying three nights after starting our trip in sandiego and heading to monterey…I want to do DL monday-wednesday as I read to avoid weekends there if possible…so wondering which week is better??

The first week of July is Independence day, and that increases crowds. Next year July 4 is Monday.

Many people feel that late August has lighter crowds, but I think early August is still summer busy. In any case it should be lighter than the week of July 4.

I don't think there's going to be much of a difference between last week of July and first week of August, to be honest.
Both are peak Summer season and will be busy, but will also have the longest operating hours and most entertainment options.
