When to pick up ticket

We purchased a 4 day ticket. Question, can I pick up ticket the day before I want to use it, or is the day I pick up the ticket considered day one. Wanted to pick up ahead of time rather than wasting time our first park day.

Day one does not occur until you go through the gates with the ticket.

when i used to buy tickets, i preferred to pick them up the day before also.
didn't want to rush and have to deal with line waits the day i was going to the park.

many buy tickets months in advance and some have them mailed to them.
until you use them to enter the parks, does it start the countdown of number of days left on the ticket pass
