When to ME tags come?

We are flying to WDW on 12/10 - my son from school rather than home. I listed his address as our home address because it's his permanent address and because I didn't have his school address on hand. He'll be home for Thanksgiving - 2 weeks prior to our trip. Should I have the tags by then? Or should I call and change his address? It seems like I usually get my tags at least 2 weeks before our trip, but since we always rent a car I have only used the tags and taken DME once so I don't really pay attention.

We are leaving 11/23 and I got our tags about 2 weeks ago. I signed up for ME about 5 months ago but I do not know if that matters. My guess is that you will have them by Thanksgiving. Have a great trip

We are leaving on Dec. 12 and received our tags a couple of days ago (Nov. 5).

I have a cold, so maybe the cold meds are fogging my brain, but why did you give your ds's address??? the info packet will go to whatever address you gave them. I'm leaving on 12/6 and got my DME packet middle of last week. The info packet will go to only one address. If you gave his address, that's where the packet will go to. The packets usually arrive abut 4 weeks prior to departure.

Just so that you know...DME sends out one packet per reservation. They do not send them to multiple addresses. At least that has been their policy since they started operating.
If there were two different groups traveling from different areas, but on the same reservation, then the primary person would get the packet and then would have to get the tags to the others in the group.
When I read your post I 'thought' you were saying that you gave his school address as the primary address. Like I said, I have a cold and the meds are really messing with my thought process.

If by some chance you don't receive it by Thanksgiving, it will be fine - he will just need to have his baggage claim ticket and will need to check into the ME desk.

YIKES! We leave on 11/27 and as of Saturday we still didn't receive our DME tags. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll be in my mailbox when I get home from work. If not I guess I'll have to call.

I would call immediately to see if they have been sent out. There are times that the DME reservation didn't transfer or get completed.. the more time you give DME the chance to send the tags the better....

I'm glad I started thinking about this now. After reading all your replies, I decided to check on our reservation. Sure enough, they didn't have DME information for either my son or I. He told me 8-10 days to get our packet, so it should be here by Thanksgiving. I want to put the tag on his suitcase (which is here) myself - control freak? Really he has so much work due between Thanksgiving break and the end of the semester (the day we leave for WDW) that I want to make this as easy as possible for him.

Definately call; I leave the same day and I got my ME tags two weeks ago.

Flying down the same day 12/10 and received our ME pack last Thursday. I would call.

I called the direct DME number after hearing that central reservations didn't have my ME information earlier. DME only had my arrival info., so I gave her the departure info. and she said I will have the packet long before Thanksgiving. One less stress in my life...
