Hi , love this forum... can anyone tell me when can you make reservations for hotels on site? We are planning now for next january to go to MK for our belated xmas present to the kids... but when i go to sites they either say, no rooms available or they are only up to 12-31-09.... should I sit and wait? Just curious what others have found? And has anyone gone the first week of January? we are planning on leaving 1-2-10, so how is the weather, hours and crowds? Thanks so much in advance! :thumbsup2

I can't help as far as weather/crowds in January as we've never been that time of year.....but as far as a room ressie goes you can book room only 499 days out :). I believe the price will be quoted at or around 2009 peak prices and will then be adjusted when the 2010 prices are released....which is usually sometime in August. But if you are looking to book a package with tickets, you have to wait until the 2010 prices are released. The deposit on a room only reservation is 1 night's room charge, while the deposit on a package is $200. If you book room only and later want a package after the prices are released, your room only will have to be cancelled/refunded and a package booked with a new deposit. Good luck :goodvibes. Going to Disney is a great Christmas present :thumbsup2.

You can call disney and make a room only reservation now. The rule is that you can make a room only reservation 499 days in advance, by calling. The official rates and packages will be released sometime this summer, the last few years it has been in August.
If you make a room only reservation now and then want to change it to a package, you will need to make a whole new reservation with a new deposit. Then the old reservation will be cancelled and the deposit refunded to you.

You have to call to book for next year until august when the new rates are released. Mickeynut is correct, they will charge you 09 peak rate to reserve the room until august when the rates come out they will be adjusted

I've gone three times in late Dec/early Jan and the crowds don't start thinning out until several days in January. Even though the average high for Orlando in Jan is about 70, we were decked out in gloves, scarves, jackets and shivering our butts as the weather didn't make it much over 55. It's always nicer feeling when it's sunny out, but I still remember being chillier than expected.
