When to look for deals

At this point, there don't seem to be any specials available onsite. Is it better to just grab a room (and tickets) now, to make sure they're available - or wait until closer to travel time, and hope for special deals to become available? Disney has their plan, airlines have their plan, lodges have their plan...I don't know anything about Universal!?!

I don't know about the other stuff, but I would definitely get the tix now...U/O has a promotion for 7 consecutive days of unlimited access to both parks for ~$90. And the tix don't expire until first use. Can't beat that!
