We are planning a week with our friends and we would like to go the week of Halloween and my friends would like to go the week of Christmas. Which is more crowded and which would have the warmer weather?

We've gone down many a time in October, and usually the weather is great, still hot during the day for swimming and nice in the evenings. Crowds are not large but we tend to go first or second week of October. Christmas time, again we go first or second week of December, right before Christmas WDW starts filling up for the holidays, and the couple of weeks before its like no one is there. Weather is alittle different than October, alittle cooler to down right cold and jackets a must. Either way you can't go wrong, Christmas decorations go up after Thanksgiving or alittle before and you can see all of them in October without all the people. Problem now is the secret is out so attendance seems to be going up around these times missing all the hordes and heat of the summer months. We figured we'ld go in the fall, and there would be less people and children, attending school susposibly, but it not true, tons of children playing hookey.

Christmas is probably the busiest time at Disney. I was looking up at touringplans.com (great site to see how busy Disney is expected to be). October 27 rated a 6, oct 28 is a 5, october 29, 30, 31, nov 1 and 2 and rated 4's. December 24-31 is rated 10's (the highest number and busiest). The parks have been known to close during Christmas week because of capacity levels. 4's is the lowest. You will probably walk onto most rides. If you do go during October don't forget Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. The kids will love it. Guests are encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes. Its a Blast!! It even cool for adults. Thank goodness for it. Last year Wilma blew through South Florida and a 7pm curfew was in effect. They cancelled Halloween but thanks to MNSSHP my DD12 was able to enjoy Halloween and not miss out. I gave my candy to niece and nephews. At my mom's house they played "trick or treat" using the bedrooms as make believe houses. The older kids made haunted houses out of the rooms. So many store were still out of power, without the candy from Disney, the kids wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as they did. Sorry to get off track but its just a special memory for us.
