When to choose building a droid and lightsaber?

We are getting close to our 60+10 days out. We will arrive at AoA on August 21st. Do the sabers and the droids times always sell out every day? Does one book faster than the other? One son wants to build a saber and the other son wants to make a droid. It would be great if I could book them both for the same time. My husband could go in with one son and I can go in with the other son. Most of the recommendations I see say to book as late in the day as possible which I will do. We have two days planned for HS. My plan was to spend much more time at GE one day and focus on other rides the other day. Will I have to book the first time slot I see or else I will totally miss out on them being able to build the droid or saber or can I be a bit selective? What happens if we have reservations for either of them and then the only time we can get a ILL for RoTR is for close to the same time? Would they still let us ride Rise after they are done building? I am wondering that because I will make the reservations 60 days out but we won't know what ILL will be available until we get there that day. What tips can you give me?

Lightsaber goes faster. We actually missed out on a lightsaber since we waited too long to decide.

For the droid, we ended up picking 6pm, and thought that was the perfect time. Didn’t have to lug them around too long, and we didn’t want to leave it to park closing because we personally wanted to make sure to ride some rides at the end of the night with lower wait times. The experience took about 20 mins, doesn’t take too long so even if your eventual LL is near that time, just go right after and should be ok.

I would even just go as far ahead on the calendar right now and just play around with both experience and see what’s available. From what I remember you click morning or afternoon or evening and then you get time slot options.

ETA: oh man, I just went on the app since I was curious, and I’m a bit shocked even droid depot is all sold out for the farthest dates. I guess we did go at a slower time we didn’t have to rush in booking. I hope you are able to get both, good luck!!

We arrive on August 18th and I couldn't get any day or time for our entire 9 day trip for the Droid depot this morning. :headache:
