When to call??

We are going to SSR July 16th - 23rd for our 1st visit home. We have a couple of room requests, so when and how should I make them? Call SSR, fax SSR now or wait until July??

You should call MS now and ask them to note your requests on the reservation record. MS handles all room requests for DVC resorts.

In general, it is best to make requests when the original reservation is made. Although there are some reports of DVC going to a "room ready" check-in system (which means they don't pre-assign rooms and it's first come-first serve), there are many reports of rooms not being ready at check in that seemed clearly to be pre-assigned.

In the DVC system, the requests are also handled in priority order. Therefore, if you have a particularly urgent request, you should always name it first. For us, that's non-smoking.
