We've never flown at this time of year. We are planning on traveling the week before Christmas '04 and returning on the 23rd. Am I better off booking early or just checking all the time and waiting?? What can I expect as far as rates?? Thanks.

I've always paid around $200 (except last year when I booked in January for our October trip and only paid $100 with AA.com!!!!) for all 3 of our December trips. Usually a little under $200. For this December, we paid $181.

I usually book just at the 330 mark cause I just can't wait for sales. I'm too afraid I won't get my non-stops and the seats I want.

Good luck!

I book early also. Airline fares are like roller-coasters -- always going up and down and you'll never be sure that they will drop when you want to book. Plus at 330 days out you usually get a better selection of seats.

In Chicago we vote early and often, so I do the same with airline tickets. :teeth:

I start watching right away because I know what a good price out of MSP will be. As soon as I see one I can live with I book it. usually for December you see good sales in March or April.

This year I got VERY lucky, and did my first plane trip to WDW with a stop on Delta because the price was $137! That's VERY good for MSP. If I can get something like that, I will definitely make the stop, but I prefer non stops.
