When to book the 8th day

I am planning to book an 8 day vacation at the 11 month window. Is it correct that I can only book a maximum of 7 days? If so, when can I call to add on the 8th day? Can I call the next day to modify the reservation to include the 8th day which is now +7 days, or do I have to wait until the 11 month point from the added day? Do people call day by day to add on days 8, 9, 10 etc?

It's true that you may only book 7 nights on the first call. You may call the next day to add the 8th night, but it's not necessary to call that soon. As long as you call at least one day before the 11 month window opens for the 8th night, you are guaranteed to get it. That's just how the "call before check in" system works.

I think most who have longer vacations, add on the remaining nights on a day by day basis. The more savvy, and busier guests just figure out when they have to call to be guaranteed they get all the remaining nights of their vacation. Depending on how many additional nights they need, those guests can usually get the remaining nights with just one additional call.

We were able to add our 8th, 9th and 10th days on the following days and not 8, 9 and 10 days later.

Sorry to the OP a little of topic,

Since they are talking about unifying split reservations under one number I am wondering how that will effect this situation and adding onto shorter reservations at different resorts/room classes. Anyone have any thoughts.
