When to book for summer 2011?

We are planning our 2nd (but definently not our last) trip to WDW for early June 2011. The quandry is when to book? Do we put our money down when the booking window opens (1 year out I believe?) or do we wait to see what kind (if any) discount packages or deals are announced ? We waited until Jan 09 to book for Jun 09 and got the buy 4 get 3 deal which seemed to be a good savings. The problem was that we wanted to to stay at POFQ but by the time we put our deposit down they were all full so we ended up with an opening CBR (which was awesome by the way). But this time we would like to try and make it more of a sure thing to get into POFQ. So I guess thats our quandry, do we wait and see if we can save or do we go with the sure booking for the room we want? I'm assuming Disney will not let us switch/transfer our package after we've already put a deposit down.

Good question. We are hoping to go back at that time too and I would also like to know that best time to book.

it isn't 100% sure yet, but I HOPE(!!!) we'll go back in august 2011. I'll book between dec.- feb. - or is this too late?!

I'm trying to decide the same - we're going in March 2011 and we also took advantage of the buy 4, get 3 deal when we went last time, May 09. We're staying at All Star Movies, so I certainly don't anticipate that it will be some big hot spot at a hot time, you know? So for now, I'm holding off and just sticking aside any money I had for deposits/payments/etc until I see if a deal's going to be announced. I'm just not sure how long I'll wait - let's face it, I'd love to be officially booked.

Can you not book and then ask to have the deals applied to your reservations if any are announced? I know that is how the Travel Agents do it...

Im thinking for now we'll wait a while and see what happens & just put the $$ away as time draws near,after all we can't really book until this coming June. We have a whole 14or so months till we go. If anyone knows about the possibilty of applying the deal towards already made ressies we would love to know. Thanks!
