We're new members, never booked a trip before...

We were thinking of going this September (5th-9th) to Beach Club Villas, but I don't think we'll be booking the trip for a couple of weeks.

My question is, do you think I'll still be able to get a room since we're not booking very far ahead?

Anyone with any experience out there-I'd love your input.

Thanks.

We're debating a Labor Day trip (Thurs 9/2 - Tues 9/7), but can't commit the $$ for airfare right now.

Does anyone have a feel for how difficult it would be to get a studio? I'd put out points for the 1br if I had to. Own at BWV, but would stay anywhere.

Thanks.

I just booked a studio for Sept 11 - 18 with no trouble. Sept is a slow time of year, but Labor Day might be you only snag. If booked, just get on a wait list, but I think you should be OK.

I think you both are going to find it very difficult. You are even beyond the 7 month period. I would say that if you are willing to stay anywhere in DVC you might have a shot. You can be put on the wait list if nothing is available. I have been a member since 95, made 17 trips to DVC and all have been made right at the 11 month window. One of the things about being a member is making reservations way before you ever would as a non-member. It takes some getting used to. If you could go the next week you would have no problems

I booked a trip for last september 2 weeks before we went. I originally tried for labor day weekend and I had to waitlist (the waitlist did come in for a studio at BWV). But we decided to go the next week instead and had no trouble at all getting into BCV in a studio.

I don't know if this is rare or not though. Good luck.

Thanks, Everyone,

We're actually going just after Labor Day, since our kids don't start school until the 13th of September. My husband thinks because it's such a slow time of year, we won't have any trouble. I think DVC people are super-planners (takes one to know one) and we should book sooner rather than later. However, this trip is an "extra" one and it doesn't really matter if it doesn't happen.

How about calling MS and asking them. Unless you want a standard view at BWV after labor day the place pretty much clears out. We were there last year the week after labor day and it was deserted.(well as deserted as WDW gets)

As long as you don't have to borrow any points from another Use Year, there's really no reason NOT to book even if you are still a bit uncertain of the dates. At least you'll have something.

If you end up changing your travel dates, you can always call Member Services and adjust the reservation.
