When staying in dvc resort do people only book sun-thurs

With the exception of one Sat. in a studio at low points, we never use our points on weekends. By saving our points this way, we get more trips per year. :cool1:

We usually stay at the Polynesian for 3,4 or 5 nights with an AP rate and then BCV for 4 or 5...usually 5. One of these days, I want to try POFQ. We have also combined with GF and one of these days, I'm sure we will with AK too as I'm the only one that has stayed there so far. But it is also very hard not to return to the Polynesian so we always end up there!

At any rate, our points are money and we just can't see spending double for weekends.

We usually arrive Fri (late flight in because I usually have to work) and stay through the following Sun or for two weeks. Wish I had the vacation time to take more trips to DVC per year, but I only have 4 weeks and we like to go other places also

We bought enough points to do weekends. On my upcoming trip I decided to go a day early, and I get an AP rate on a studio. I said from the beginning that I would not borrow!!----

Sunday through Friday is all we usually stay anywhere we go, so it's no problem for us. We book an early flight on Sunday morning and take the last flight home on Friday night.

Ditto. I dislike weekend crowds, and 6 days/5 nights every 3-4 months is perfect for my family. And arriving early Sunday and leaving late Friday makes the trip feel longer.

I have enough points for lots of weekend stays--but I generally don't use them, especially if I can get the room for cash. I always check with MS and CRO to see where the best deal is, cash-wise, for the room I am already staying in. Usually, I can get the room on cash discount, except during Christmas vacation. This summer, though, I am staying Sat.-Sat. in a grand villa, and all those nights are on points, since grand villas seldom rent for cash, and don't qualify for discounts. :badpc:

I have considered trying to do this. Do you have any hints? Do you start with MS or CRO and how far out? Thanks for any hints.

But it would also be hard for us to give up our Poynesin fix. Sometimes I regret that there were no value or moderates on property when we first started going!

We bought enough points for the weekends but I am getting good at streching them. In June we are using our points at port orleans ( saved 45 points) Than we are going to Universal for the weekend and off to Vero on Monday.

Than back to disney in October for a second trip to Boardwalk and than we still had enough points left over and i rented them and paid for all my maint. fees. I couldn't have wished for a better deal. ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

Next month I'm staying two days at POP, then renting DVC points for BWV for Sun-Thurs, then spending two additional nights at POP (nine nights total). By renting DVC points Sun-Thurs, avoiding the high weekend points and getting an AP code at POP I was able to add two more days to my vacation. I don't like the idea of moving from BWV back to POP, but love being able to spend two additional days at WDW.

We're staying Fri/Sat night @ Allstarr Movies with A/P rate then Sun-Thurs SSR 2BR, then to AKL Concierge Fri/Sat night, then to BCV studio for the last Sun-Thurs nights. Phew . . . but it'll be exciting. We're gonna let Disney transfer the luggage for us! :rolleyes1
